Metropolis Cheesesteaks at Mother Road Market — Restaurant in Tulsa

We stopped by the Mother Road Market for lunch while in Tulsa recently and I decided to eat at Metropolis Cheesesteaks since the food looked great and I hadn’t had a cheesesteak in a while.

The lady who took my order was really friendly and gave some great menu suggestions. I got a large cheesesteak along with an order of the Philly fries. Yes, I definitely over ordered as you can tell by the photo but everything was fantastic! The cheesesteak meat was seasoned well, the cheese was melty, overall a great sandwich! The fries however, are a bit of a ripoff for the price. I expected a bit more than this for $11. But they still tasted good and were fried to perfection.

I was drawn to Metropolis, when I saw they offered a "Pittsburg(that's in Kansas by the way) Sandwich". Having Western Pennsylvania roots, I was really hoping for a Primanti Brother's style sandwich. It was close. All the fillings were there, pastrami, slaw provolone and fries. The slaw was not really noticeable, but everything else was pretty close. Normally, they have natural cut fries. The one thing though, is the Amoroso roll. Those are great for cheesesteaks, but they're from Philly, our natural cross state rival. Ordered a large and small cheesesteak with exact same toppings. Asked about the difference in sized to ensure I understood I was getting enough food for my family. I looked in the bag and thought it looked like 2 cheesesteaks that were the same size so went back to the counter to ensure our order was correct and he weighed the sandwiches and ensured us the order was confirmed by the correct weight.
