This was my first time at this establishment. I really love cheese steak subs and being 33 weeks pregnant was craving. Did a Google search and came across this place. Seen that it had some good reviews, one even saying it's the best in Tulsa. I'm not sure what taste buds that reviewer had but this place is definitely not the best place in Tulsa to go for a cheese steak. You are better off going to the mall to Charley's subs!! I got the loaded mushroom cheese steak with onions, bell peppers, lettuce, provalone cheese, and mayo. I got the combo, come with fries and a drink. I also want a side of cheese to dip my fries in. First thing first walking in I didn't feel welcomed. I am an African American, I'm not trying to make this about race but I can only tell you my experience. There was a lady at the register taking someone order soon as she finished she didn't acknowledge at all just walked away. A young man came and took my order looked to be about 18. He was really polite and nice I can say that's the only reason I'm giving 1 star. If it wasn't for him and I could give 0 stars and a review I would. Now on to the food. The bun was cold, I don't even think they toasted it. The sub itself was mediocre, the meat was flavorless. The lettuce was actually way too cold. I had to add a lot of salt and pepper to the sub and also the fries. The fries were also cold and I can't discribe it but had a funny texture. I wanted some nacho cheese for my fries, but all they had was cheese wiz so I opted for that and asked could they add some jalapeno peppers in order to give it some heat. The cheese was really thick and we know what that means, it was cold. Over all I ate a few fries and took a few bites out of the sub, I gave it a chance. Then while I was eating an older lady came infront of my seat and put a chain up.. Now that really made me feel uncomfortable since on the other side there were two caucasian women eating and on my side I was the only person and African American at that. It made me feel un welcomed and unwanted. That ended the meal for me. I was very disappointed and I won't be returning. Before I left I asked another worker what was the chain out up for, the lady said "we close down half of the diner before we close". It's 1pm in the afternoon they are not about to close smh. I just responded by saying I see. It wasn't worth making a big deal about it, I just will never return or give them anymore of my money not support. Also for the combo it was $12.50 definitely a waste of money. I left a 2 dollar tip while cashing out so my total was $14.50. They didn't deserve a tip and the food wasn't worth $12.50. Lastly I love sweet tea, their sweet tea was nasty I had to add sugar to it. Eat at your own risk is all I...
Read moreThis week, in celebration of National Safety Month, Week 2, the company I represent in HR had Steak Stuffers USA (SS) cater a meal for approximately 70 employees. Each employee had a an individually bagged lunch that included cheesesteak, chips, brownie, and a bottled water. From placing the order to the delivery, the Steak Stuffers staff was professional, kind, and accommodating. Many of our employees didn't want onions and peppers on their sandwich, so SS agreed to put the onions and peppers on the side in a small cup. Jennifer, who handles catering, called the night before our luncheon to review the order with me. She is one of the most pleasant people I have ever dealt with and a down-to-earth professional. She wants to please. I usually reach out to our caterers to confirm, so another testament to SS service. The meals arrived early, which allowed us time to set up, which was a real plus. No pacing the office this time wondering if the food was going to arrive as scheduled. And, since we run 5/24, SS made a 2nd trip to the facility in the early evening to deliver meals for our 2nd and 3rd shifts. The sandwiches were yummy and fresh as were the chips, and OMG, the brownies... Hands down our employees were very pleased with their lunch. We employ 90, so I can tell you that rarely happens.
Planning meals for our facility is one of my responsibilities and it is one that causes me angst every time, because I worry about the quality, quantity, freshness, and whether the food will arrive on time. SS and team's outstanding service put my angst to rest.
Out of all the meals we have catered for our employees over the years, this was by far one of the best. We will definitely do business with Steak Stuffers USA again.
Call SS the next time you want to cater a casual meal. Jennifer, her mom, and the entire SS team...
Read moreI don't know where to start. This has been a long time favorite, but the last two times have been, well, lacking, and then finally, today, just gross. About a week ago, went to Steak Stuffers. I noticed different help at the window. But didn't think anything about it until I got home and the sandwich just wasn't the same (the meat was dry and I wondered if I had forgotten to order it with cheese and there didn't seem to be any cheese on it-there was just not very much) and the fries were really salty. Now I love salty fries, but these were super salty. So I thought maybe it was just an off day, or the owners were on vacation, etc. Went back. Cook was standing outside at the back smoking a cigarette. Ok, maybe not horrible. A little off putting, but thought oh well. Pulled up and ordered my usual. Noticed a different lady at the window. Took order gave me my food and literally COUGHED in my face. Didn't bother covering her mouth, turning her head, nothing. Coughed right in my face. Needless to say, I was grossed out. But i figured the bag is stapled shut so she didn't cough on my food. Went home, and the same. Hardly any cheese on the sandwich, and dried out meat. Fries weren't salty this time but I could tell they hadn't changed the oil. Found out there are new owners. And I'm sorry to say, it shows. Sadly, I won't...
