We were lucky enough to find Sushi House yesterday when we were in Tulsa visiting friends. This is by far the best sushi we have had anywhere in the Midwest! Between the four of us we ordered 7 rolls - they were all creatively presented, amazingly fresh and so good! We did end up taking a to-go box with us when we left. It was a lot of food.
We also ordered the Edamame and a Tako Salad (octopus) - it was fantastic; great color, great flavor and very well presented. It's big though, so sharing it with another person is a good idea.
The chef gave us a complimentary lobster roll that was delicious. And, after the meal, we were presented with a complimentary dessert of the chef's choice. It was a tempura banana with cinnamon, a sweet sauce and whipped cream. It isn't something I would have thought of ordering before, but oh my gosh it was amazing! If I had tried this at home I would have licked the plate; it was that good!
Our waitress was friendly, sweet and professional. She made great recommendations and our drinks were never empty.
The restaurant was clean and so were the restrooms.
Overall this was a fantastic experience. The next time we are in Tulsa we will...
Read moreThe food was great! There were 3 of us (2 adults and a 9 yrs old). We started with Volcano roll and spider roll. Both were excellent. Then we went on to the Korean entres--bulgogi and pork belly sizzling plate (ssam gyup sal gui). The bulgogi is delicious. But I would recommend an appetizer (like sharing a sushi roll) if you are really hungry or a growing man (like my skinny husband). The pork belly sizzling plate was about $3 more than the bulgogi but it was worth every penny. You dip the salty/sesame seed sprinkled pieces of meat in a special Korean sauce and put a little piece of the kimchi or bean sprout from the hot plate with some rice and it's so good. The best way to eat it is to order a side of lettuce leafs, sliced raw jalapenos and extra ssam sauce (all for $3--not on menu--ask for it). Then make tiny lettuce wraps with it. Heaven... my 9 yr old loves it. We all did. The only minor disappointment was the panchan (small plates of Korean pickled vegetables, including kimchi). Not enough variety and too small, but the grilled pork belly came with additional cooked kimchi so...
Read moreI've been looking for a really good Korean restaurant and I think I found it. I ordered the calamari tempura to start - it was a little tough to bite through, but the flavor was good.
The salmon nigiri was excellent. The portion was just right and the flavor was clean and simple. It was easily one bite, which I prefer instead of the huge portions at other places that feel like overkill and are awkward to eat. I'll probably branch out next time and try more of the sushi offerings.
But this next dish is why I came tonight. The real winner was the Galbi (short rib) Bibimbap. I paid the extra dollar for the hot stone bowl and it was worth it. This dish alone is what will bring me back again. The rice got nicely crispy, the mushrooms were so flavorful, and the short ribs were wonderful. Stir it up with some house red sauce and you've got a winner.
I will definitely be...
