I was very excited to try this place. The ice cream was really good. I got an egg carton with 6 different flavors to try and the Lemon Crumble was out of this world. I'm a sucker for the classics and the vanilla bean was so bean-y and the strawberry was perfect. Despite the ice cream being delicious, I still left with a sour taste in my mouth because of the person behind the counter. I was the only one in line, she saw me and ignored me. She continued to work on waffles long enough that I checked to make sure I was in the right spot. I only realized she wanted to take my order because she stared at me until I was uncomfortable. I clarified that she was ready to take my order and stepped forward. I was excited to be there and I told her that I hadn't been there before and asked for a recommendation. At this she promptly sighed and started to clean. She did gave me a recommendation, but I realized she was entirely uninterested in the encounter. So I tried a quick sample, and ordered. I like little spoons to eat my ice cream with, and I think it is wasteful to toss them so I kept mine in my mouth while I fished around for my credit card and paid. She then very abruptly told me that spoon gets washed and reused! You have to give it back! And she shoved a little trash can under my nose. She was abrupt, and I felt like she was treating me like I was trying to steal. I had no idea. If there was a sign, I didn't see it. I gave the spoon back and left...
Read moreWho doesn't love ice cream? This facility has a nice selection of dairy based ice creams of various flavors. As someone whose is allergic to dairy, I can only speak about their dairy free options. When I have been to this location, they typically have 2-3 dairy free options. Their ice cream base tastes like it is a coconut base and has nice flavor and is nice and creamy in texture. Unfortunately, if you are not a fan of coconut, no matter what flavor I have tried of theirs the coconut is present. Of you are a sorbet person, they have had one sorbet available. One thing that I appreciate is how the dairy free flavors are taken from local farmers produce. They have used raspberries and blueberries from Spooners, and their sorbet has been Apple cider from Latins Cider Mill, another local institution. If you are looking for just a scoop, you can grab one there, or they have a freezer full of pints, sometimes there are flavors in there that they do not have in the front. The facility is located in a new complex full of other restaurants and a new cider place making this a wonderful location to grab dinner, drinks and some ice cream. Sweetlee's also has ice cream trucks that you can find at local events, private functions and parked in the...
Read moreOk. Let me explain. This is my third time having Sweetlee's ice cream. I understand that this is fresh made ice cream. I came here looking to see for reviews of your ice cream and I thought that it was just me that perhaps did not like the cookies and cream that I had tasted. Well your food truck was in an event and I witnessed people throwing away the ice cream because they did not like it. I do not know the flavors that they threw away but I can certainly say this about the salted cookies and cream. I have had salted cookies and cream ice cream before and that recipe needs an adjustment and reassessment. It is in fact too salty. It is flat out not a good recipe. The only other flavor I knew that was thrown away was I believe the berry sorbet or some kind of sorbet. The waffle cone was delicious. The service was amazing. Your physical store is in a good location. I just suggest that you take a look back at your recipes and make some adjustments. In no way is this attack against your efforts or your business and I wish you the continued success that you seem to be having and I hope there is a future where I can return and find something that I like on the menu for now the limited things I have tried...
