Checkers — Restaurant in Tupelo

We visited this place late afternoon on a Sunday and hesitated to pull in because we weren't sure if it was open. There were two vehicles in the parking lot so we assumed they were employee's vehicles and proceeded to the order box as you can only order food in their drive-thru here. The lady voice that came through the speaker box wasn't too enthused about our arrival but nevertheless sufficed in meeting her job requirements. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger combo that promised bacon in every bite...they lied lol. While trying to order our food they were out of the majority of their soft drinks as well as their milkshakes. We had to pull up to the front of the store to finish waiting for our food. The lady over the speaker box was just as uninterested as she sounded. She did ask if we wanted ketchup which we did, but we didn't get any. The fries were near soggy and the hamburger was way over dressed with ketchup, mayo, and mustard making it very difficult to eat. Worse was the soggy buns which I loathe!! I didn't even eat half of my food before my mind and stomach both agreed it would be in our best interest to stop putting this very messy and bland tasting food!! Not really sure what went wrong here. Checkers used to be pretty solid, but today the chicken tasted a bit like chemicals, just really not edible. The mozzarella sticks are great, but of course, they forgot my marinara sauce. Wait times aren’t great for the food quality, expect to be sitting around for about 10 minutes for (at best) subpar food, even during non-peak hours. However, I think this fact should be blamed on Checkers corporate being cheapskates and not wanting to schedule more than 2 employees to work at a time. Hell, until recently, they had some lame AI chatbot doing the order-taking. Basically, Checkers needs to fix their chicken recipe and hiring practices (or lack thereof).

Okay, we've been here a couple times since it opened and this was by far my worst experience. I honestly don't see how you could have even messed up the order I had. Our food was not fresh at all. It was like the leftovers of the lunch rush. I was informed that I'd be charged for lettuce, tomato, etc. as my daughter likes everything on her burger and I was fine with that. Not only did I get charged but there wasn't even an attempt made to put what you charged me for on my food. I asked for no onions on my son's chili dog as to he doesn't like raw onions, but they added onions anyway and he couldnt even finish it because the dog was cold and the raw onion flavor overpowered everything.
