Sizzler — Restaurant in Turlock

Well as Americana Restaurants and cooking goes this restaurant has taken a fall and a big one Sizzler used to be a great place we can take your family and enjoy what they call a salad bar with other foods that are available at the said salad bar not just have salad. However what I've noticed with coming in with two senior people senior discounts we're not considered nor was a veteran discount considered. Those people in this case are over the age of 70 one is going to have a birthday and she'll be 73. In addition to this the senior woman actually has medical issues that prevent her from eating a normal size meal so what was asked was considered and declined quite quickly. Next question was can we add $10 which is for the salad bar to an entree that her husband was ordering. But let's be clear on what was ordered it was the trio which cost $25 and of which other things were added on to this such as onions and mushrooms so that brought that entree up to $30 and there was actually more that was ordered which caused it on try to be even more money but again adding $10 to that meal would have brought it up to say $42 again this wasn't enough for two senior people to be charged with that request. Now I was the third party that was added to this meal ticket and I too ordered an entree. So at the end of the day and at the end of the meal ticket including tip Sizzler definitely got over a hundred twenty plus dollars which equals a lot for three people to eat. As a family we weren't asking for free meals of any kind. The elderly lady actually got the full salad bar and paid for it however the only thing she really wanted was some chicken wings a little bit of fresh salad and a cup of clam chowder. This is all she normally gets however yesterday I also noticed that staff kept coming around to see if we were getting salad bar as well yet since she is in a wheelchair her husband assisted her. There wasn't a lot of people like I said and it was noticeable. I truly believe that Applebee's or Denny's or Hotrod's has a better selection more food versus the cost of money. And in light of all the cost increases and how seniors don't get any more money in their paychecks that's right they don't have paychecks!!! Seniors should understand that the other restaurants will give them better food at less cost and they'll ask if you'd like your discount applied. The staff here needs to understand what it's like to keep their seniors happy because these are the people that go out to eat more. Lastly, angus steaks served has fat and gristle. My fiance and I went here together for a dinner and we had ordered the 6oz steak and unlimited shrimp as well as the steak trio with the ribs. We had found it a little strange that we had to order and pay before being seated. Even weirder, while paying they had asked if we wanted cash back to tip? We had said no because we planned to tip with the cash we brought in from the beginning and just pay the total with card. After being brought to our table, Mackenzie(our server) shortly brought drinks to us. Within a reasonable amount of time, we had received our food from her. It was a Monday night, so there were only like three other tables in the restaurant with people at them. It took Mackenzie until after we had both finished our steaks to check if our food was okay. She didn't ask if we needed anything at this time neither. Then we proceeded to eat, as I finished my shrimp, I wanted a refill as I had unlimited shrimp, but I waited over 25 minutes for her to come back and check on us, and in this 25 minutes we were watching her gossip and mess around with her coworkers instead of focusing on her service. Both of our drinks were empty, and I had run out of shrimp when I had unlimited and it took nearly a half hour to get her attention to get refills and new shrimp. When we finally got her attention, I asked for refills and more shrimp since it was unlimited, and she starts explaining about how there is a dish that comes with unlimited shrimp but not this one, and then I mentioned I had ordered the 6 oz. Steak and unlimited shrimp, and her exact words were "quit playinggggg, yeah I got you"... Which felt extremely disrespectful and negligent of our service. She didn't even know what we had ordered and it was clear she wasn't paying attention when we were her only table. It seemed as though she was just negligent of our table because we were young and she did not believe we were going to tip, which is extremely unfair especially when you are paying at least $90 for 2, it was just highly disappointing and unacceptable for service. I don't know why she wouldn't check on a table more than once especially when they have a plate with unlimited shrimp and be constantly talking to coworkers and unable to be reached by...

When we arrived at the sizzler, I had this idea of what my last experience was. And couldn't wait to have a nice salad maybe some Nachos. After being seated, I headed over and made me a nice little plate of nachos. The cheese looked a little runny but I didn't pay it any mind just made my plate once I got back to our booth. I took a simple bite of chips and chips were okay for corn chips but the cheese lacked flavor and super thin the cheese was at the bottom of the plate and had left a thin film over everything on the plate. If I were to speculate. I would think that they poured a bunch of water in without. Regard to the finished product. The cheese was like an orange soup instead of nacho cheese So I pushed the nachos aside and went and made a salad which was pretty good. I must admit but they were lacking sliced pickles which I loved with my salad. Not a very big deal. And I must say the chicken wings were delicious as always. Our waitress, on the other hand started us off with our drinks. And then I didn't see her for another 45 minutes. I could have used a refill on my strawberry lemonade? But I guess it wasn't my day. The waiter that was attending the table right beside us was on it. I saw him back and forth at the tabels that he was waiting on, So I actually asked him for a refill and it was back in about five minutes.
