Heat Pizza Bar — Restaurant in Tuscaloosa

I really want to give this place a 5 or even a 10 if possible! We moved here from Auburn 6 months ago and we live down the road from Broadway. That has been the only pizza we've ever known here. Broadway pizza is only okay to us but their cheese bread is great! Anyway, we were downtown today and tried this place for the first time and it is by far, hands down the best pizza ever!! No pizza place in Auburn can touch this and no other pizza in Tuscaloosa can either. Had the veggie delight and spinach artichoke which was our favorite out of the two. Would have given this place a 5 except on the veggie delight we got more bread than pizza as you can see in the photo. The spinach artichoke was covered nicely to the ends of the crust but the veggie was skimpy. Still delicious and could taste the potential in the veggie for sure but based off the spinach artichoke it beats Broadway by far in taste and quality of ingredients. Oh boy did we taste the difference! AND, that's coming from an outsider who is not loyal to either and doesn't know the pizza...

Heat makes some mighty fine pizzas!

Heat is a fairly large restaurant in downtown Tuscaloosa. Even so, it fills up quickly on weekends and game days, and they run pretty good specials on weeknights, so it's always a little busy!

It was pretty dark inside when we went, contributing to the bar atmosphere. The service we received was very nice. Prompt with drink refills, pleasant conversation (but not too much), and attentive to all of our needs.

We had a veggie pizza, a meat lover's pizza, a Caesar salad, and of course the chicken bacon ranch! Everyone enjoyed their food. I ate the CBR. Although I would have liked a little more ranch flavor (will have to ask for ranch dipping cup when I return), overall it was a very tasty pizza, with crunchy thin crust and a great ratios of bacon, cheese, and chicken. I can't eat cow cheese, so I brought my own cheese from home and asked if the chef could use that instead. The server knew without asking that that was something they could do. She took my container of cheese back to the kitchen, and then brought it back washed!

The pizza was the best pizza I've had had in years! I ordered the spinach and artichoke pizza, swapping the white sauce for a red sauce, and then my sheep cheese on top. It was incredible!

Another thing I greatly appreciate about Heat is that for children you can order a plate of up to 8 toppings: any toppings listed on the menu. So for our 2 year old, we got hard boiled egg, cheese, strawberries, and bacon. The toddler was thrilled to eat her favorite foods, and we were thrilled not to have to order her her own pizza or accommodate her tastes when ordering...
