I just want to start off by saying my family and I love Cheddar's. We were in Tyler for both graduation (from Houston) and decided to go eat at Cheddar's on Saturday 06/02. We did have a large party so we knew we were going to have a longer than usual wait time, which was fine. We were told by the hostess and the manager Aaron the wait would be an hour unless we were willing to be separated. Being separated wasn't an issue so we told them that was fine. Well after an hour and a half we were wondering what was taking so long. The hostess informed us that they were waiting on a party of 20 to leave in order to seat us. The party was just sitting there talking so they didn't know how much longer. At this point it is almost 11 pm. My cousin saw an area big enough for us open and clean and requested to be seated and was told no, but they would ask the manager. Aaron then came back up front. My cousin was asking his questions about the wait and what he originally said about separating us and he completely denied what we all heard. He was so rude and condescending I will never eat there again. He did not conduct himself as a manager should in a situation like this. He wasn't accommodating or apologetic. He was even shrugging his shoulders as if to say "whatever" when asked for the corporate number and if that is how he treats customers. So I called the number he provided and it is the Darden IT department NOT a corporate number. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because our waiter/server/chef Cedric was AMAZING!!!! He apologized which is what the manager should of done and told us he would do his best to make the experience better. He was also standing there when the manager was so rude. In my opinion Aaron Cater needs to be coached or retrained on customer...
Read moreI dried off my chair and put down a napkin to keep my arms from sticking to the bar. When the Bartender finally approached us, one of 2 parties being served, lots of employees standing and chatting, we order a shot of tequila and a glass of carbonated water, and a double amaretto sour. We were asked to pronounce it again then was asked to be patient while he figured out what it was. We told him, amaretto and sweet and sour mix over ice. Then he looked around and finally asked if we could point the alcohol out we were wanting. The bartender had to be reminded we wanted a double, then poured a shot of tequila. When I tasted it, it was sweet. I had to wait for 15 minutes till I could get the bartender's attention again, lots of employees ordering food. I asked why the tequila is sweet and was told because it's Triple Sec. Not what was ordered. Without apology or contrition my glass of triple sec had a shot of tequila dropped in on top. The food was not delicious enough to overcome the service deficit. We felt like we wasted time and money at Cheddar's.
thanks for reaching out, it's an admirable attempt, but there is nothing on the Cheddar's menu I can't get at a dozen other restaurants. I had such a terrible visit I will not come back nor will I reccomend it, and, I will share my story everytime someone mentions your establishment, in this economy I will not throw good money after bad service when I have a plethora of the same...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible. Walked in and asked to be seated outside. There was only one table where someone was sitting but they said there was going to be a 10-15 minute wait. We didn't complain because even though that was stupid... 10-15 minutes later they go to seat us outside and as the host is walking out to seat us I hear the manager Yell to her "don't sit them ANYWHERE near the group that's going to be out there". When we got outside the waitress said you can't sit over here by this big table that's going to be out here soon... so she points to the tall bar like tables on the other side and said so you have to choose from over there. we have two young children with us so that's definitely not going to work... there was a table about 30 or so feet in between the "big table" they were going to be having and the only other regular sized table out there. I said can we bit sit at that small one? She said no because you can't sit by that big group of people. I'm like "it's literally 30 feet away... that doesn't make sense and we have to small kids we can't sit st those tall tables" needless to say we walked right out. She was rude that was so uncalled for. I understand it was the manager who told her that. That's insane I have never heard of anything like that in my life... I mean Are we in high school all like "you can't sit with us" literally that's how it felt. Will never ever be back nor will ANY...
