The first thing I would like to say is while it was a bit different than I expected, I still very much enjoyed dining here. Considering we’re in Tyler, TX I feel like having any sort of revolving sushi bar is a win!
It makes me really sad to see one star reviews for things that can be easily fixed with constructive criticism or a complaint to the manager, not tanking a restaurants rating when they’ve just opened.
Everything I saw was very clean, I enjoy the calm atmosphere and seeing all the sushi revolving on the belt. They have signs with the description of the roll in front of each section of sushi on the belt. I’ve been here twice so far; could I tell they were busy and a little understaffed or had new staff members learning, absolutely, but for me this does not take away from the potential and already lovely establishment that this is. The manager (I assume he’s the manager) is working very hard and it’s obvious they take pride in their business.
While I have tried sushi from some of the best places, I recognize and keep in mind that we’re in Texas for any sushi restaurant I go to.
My favorite roll so far is the fire dragon roll, if you enjoy seared salmon and kewpie mayo I would highly recommend you try it!! Their jalapeño delight was yummy and the hamachi was fresh & of course, I had to end with green tea & strawberry mochi ice cream. I have not tried any noodles yet but someone nearby ordered some and it smelled SOO delicious; will definitely have to try next time.
Make sure to pay attention to the pricing of the plates (which is labeled at each table) if you’re on a budget, but otherwise enjoy it! I’ve seen some bad restaurants, and this is not a bad restaurant...
Read moreFirst time in and the food and service were wonderful. We went on a Wednesday afternoon and enjoyed everything we had. Each sushi plate is color coded and corresponds with a price for each color. At the end of your meal they will count each plate (and what color they are) where you get your total. Prices are clearly labeled on a nifty sheet (as far as the bar goes). The plate prices ranged from 2.50 - 4.95.
List of dishes tried: Sushi Belt: Kani Salad (I got this twice) Tuna Roll Shrimp Tempura Roll (Also got this twice) Smoked Salmon Sashimi Steamed Pork Dumplings
From Menu: -Pad Thai (my husbands favorite dish and he says it is the best he has tried in Tyler.) Soup Dumplings (These were sooooo good if they had been on the belt I would have been in a coma) Crab Rangoon (These also popped up on the conveyor belt in small portions)
As our lunch progressed new types of sushi/dishes would come out on the conveyor based on the kinds of things that were being ordered around the restaurant. It's so fun to get to taste a bit of everything, and again it was all delicious. My husband and I definitely treated ourselves with this one so the total for the two of us was around 53 (prior to tip, but please tip your waiters). That got us 8 plates of sushi from the belt, the Pad Thai, Soup Dumplings, and Crab Rangoons. However, if you are unlike me, where you don't let your eyes become too big for your stomach, you can get a good priced sushi lunch/dinner and get to...
Read moreI recently visited a Yoshi Sushi Revolving Sushi and Noodle and had a mixed experience. The cleanliness of the establishment was impressive, and the revolving sushi concept was a lot of fun.
The Good The dividers between sushi types, labeling each item, were a wonderful touch, making it easy to navigate the options. The plates were clearly marked with prices, which added transparency to the dining experience.
The Not-So-Good Unfortunately, the sushi was only semi-fresh, which was a bit disappointing. The dessert rolls were hard and inedible, which was a letdown. The atmosphere was okay, but the harsh lighting was overwhelming for an evening visit. Playing politics on the television created a weird eating experience and made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal.
Room for Improvement Refills on drinks, like my soda, would have been appreciated.
Overall Despite some drawbacks, I would return to this revolving sushi restaurant. The unique concept and labeling system were major positives. With some tweaks to food quality, atmosphere, and service, this place could become...
