This was our first time here. We arrived at 4pm on a Saturday and it was not crowded at all. Food was good, but the service was terrible. When it was time for our food to come out, another server was the one who brought it. He brought my husband's shrimp plate and my side of asparagus. After waiting 10 minutes for the other 4 family members' plates we asked our waitress what was going on- who hadn't been by to check on us since she brought out our appetizer. She went to the kitchen to check on the status which took another several minutes. She eventually came out and told us that all of our other plates had been dropped and that everything would be out shortly, which we were totally understanding of, even though it took us mentioning something to her for her to even follow up. My husband ended up just going ahead and eating his food so that it wouldn't get cold. My asparagus was cold by the time my entree came out and no concern was even mentioned by the waitress.
Fast forward to ordering dessert. We asked for two vanilla shakes. 15 minutes go by, and the manager comes by to tell us they're working on the shakes and that they'll be out shortly. Another 10 minutes go by and our waitress comes out to tell us she doesn't know why it's taking the kitchen so long to make it and that "she wouldn't be mad if we canceled the order". At this point our baby was losing it, so our kids and I walked out while my husband waited for the check and shakes. While he was waiting, he was approached by the manager again who informed us that they actually don't have the ingredients they need to make the shake... 30 minutes of us waiting for these shakes for them to finally come out and communicate that information.
The best part is, when the manager brought the check she said that she made sure to remove the $10 appetizer(which was nice) AND THE SHAKES that we never even got. What do you mean you removed the shakes?? Like we're supposed to be grateful they didn't charge us for something we never received?? We were very polite during this whole experience, but this entire establishment is struggling with its quality of service and we will not be back.
**edited to clarify that we do not blame our negative experience on the kitchen staff. This review could have been 100% avoidable had the waitress/management provided bare minimum communication and attentiveness. I should also mention that being understaffed was definitely not an issue. There were plenty of servers standing around with no...
Read moreI know the restaurant businesses is tough and you guys blew it tonight. New manager is and the sushi chef is quit....yet you still try to sell sushi....looked like a busser prepared it. Was so excited to go on a date night and you guys a in a tough spot. Background music was good, not too loud and the server was awesome... Just went back to sub standard food....
Great Job Twelve! I was here a year ago and was not impressed as you can see below. They have stepped up their game. Went back for a company birthday party. Same great service, as a matter of fact Dakota our server was the best! Everything that we ordered was well prepared and had great presentation. (The southwest spinach dip had nothing southwest about it and it was really bland so they could work on that but everything else was near perfect) Even had a sushi appetizer and they pulled it off this time, great job. The entire dining experience was fantastic and they have earned my business back. Will definitely turn this in to a date spot with my wife.
Service was great! Atmosphere was great! Cleanliness was great! Food fell way short. Medallions had good taste and texture but presentation with "loaded" baked potato was unimpressive. Big plate and poorly arranged. Btw...The last time I checked loaded potato included bacon and chives. This potato only had cheese and sour cream. Asiago chicken pasta was a big disappointment. Serving was small and presentation was poor. Most of all the pasta was overcooked. The coconut shrimp roll was good but was not fresh, had been in a fridge for a while. We really expected this place to knock our socks off when we walked in with the atmosphere. When you have such a limited menu, you have to be great at what you do and the only reason for 3 stars is not...
Read moreWe've visited Twelve twice (trying to give an opportunity for redemption) the first visit was a cold evening and they put us out on the patio (there was seating available inside) and forgot about us. It took 30 min to get water and we were in our seats 1.5 hours before receiving our food. We would have walked out except it was already 8pm and couldn't imagine starting over somewhere else. The food was unimpressive and we left feeling unsatisfied. We decided to try it again, maybe it was an off night. So this time not with the family but a double date we were seated inside, that was nice. I do not drink caffeine late but enjoy a hot beverage as I'm cold natured. Nothing! Not a single decaffeinated hot beverage on the menu. I ordered hot water (I know𤢠but what could I do I was cold folks and didn't want to be up all night with coffee) this was truly the worst tasting water I have had since moving to Tyler a year ago. Do they have a Filter? No. Do they sell Bottled? No.
Moving on, we ordered a California roll to start. It was tuna fish from a can. We asked the waitress she assured it was fresh crab... no it wasn't, ok maybe a pinch of fresh crab mixed with albacore tuna from a can and mayonnaise. I have eaten a LOT of California rolls, I am not exaggerating, this was THE worst. I am speaking for all 4 guests with us when I say none of the meals were glorious. We each had an item that was "alright" and left yet again dissatisfied.
One of the other guests commented on the way out, "I think Twelve is like "flip fancy" you know when you flip a house and paint and dress it up but it's still really got bad bones."
Thanks for listening. We...
