As someone who has grow up with the taste of Mumbai food I was really looking forward to it. And it’s my bday so what better way to end up to nostalgic food.
They have great food options and friendly staff I must say… They even made a lot of authentic vegetarian dishes with non- vegetarian alternatives to cater most people… maybe down the line they will also have some vegan alternatives for drinks I guess? As someone vegan I do not want to miss out it…I hope they get “Pav Bhaaji” which is Authentic staple food from the city.
You must try light starters before the main course trust me you are missing out on a lot otherwise 😛
My recommendation
(Authentic staple food) Vada pau with hot Chai Pani puri chaat Samosa
Drink recommendations Mango lassi 3/5 (Cold drink) Chai 4/5 (Hot drink) (Again I hope we have vegan milk alternatives too in the future)
Main course recommendation Chana masala Tandoori naan Chicken tikka masala Butter naan
Interiors 5/5 Food 4.5/5 Staff 5/5 Service 5/5 Prices 4/5
Lot of you asked if they do anything special for Bday as well… When I reserved the table I was told they do but I did not experience that yet. It would be nice to have something special though in...
Read moreWe celebrated my friend's birthday at this restaurant. It's only been open for a couple of weeks (a soft opening...the official opening is on August 15, India's Independence Day). Lucky for us, we made reservations. We thought it would be dead but boy was this place buzzing. It is a very pretty restaurant done up to look like a train. The staff are friendly and efficient. We started with a Mango and Avocado salad and Ragada Pattice. The salad was fresh (could have done with a little dressing). The Ragada Pattice were great. We polished off everything on the plate. For mains I ordered the Jumbo tandoori Prawns with a regular naans. The prawns were nice and big and well seasoned. My friends ordered the Tawa Bhindi and the Paneer Lababdar. They liked their dishes. I tasted the paneer and it was pretty yummy. For dessert we shared one Moong Dal Halwa. Oh yum. That was really the star of the show. I'd go back just to have that dish. The restaurant gave us a complementary Chocolate Lava Cake as it was my friend's birthday. We were too full to even taste it, so she took it home for her husband. The portions are quite generous. Great place. Will...
Read moreWe drove all the way from Maryland just to try this restaurant, and I wish I could say it was worth it. The moment we walked in, the way we were treated was shocking. A middle-aged man spoke rudely to my brother-in-law and told him to sit in a corner, even though there was a big table open for families with kids. Instead of welcoming us as customers, his attitude felt cold and dismissive. What broke my heart most was when my daughter, who wears a hijab, whispered to me, “Mom, is it because I have a headscarf that they’re treating us like this?” And sadly, I had to tell her yes. That’s what it felt like discrimination. We couldn’t believe a place in the hospitality business would treat people this way. Looking at reviews, it’s hard not to notice a pattern: the glowing 4+ star reviews mostly come from Caucasian customers, while people of color seem to have very different experiences. In our case, we were even asked to leave. As a family, we will continue teaching our kids that everyone Black, White, Muslim, Christian, or any background deserves to be greeted with kindness and open arms. It’s sad that this restaurant couldn’t...
