it was a p busy sunday afternoon so my friend and i definitely expected a wait which was fine. there was a hostess checking everyone in, did not get her name but she had curly brownish hair. anyways my friend and i overheard her telling other customers the wait was an hour, which again we were fine with. however, when she got to us, for some reason her energy changed, no greeting or anything, just got us on the waitlist. she didn’t mention a time like she did for everyone else so i asked, but she said that “they were working on clearing tables so she couldn’t tell me a time frame”? we were confused but we just assumed that meant the table would be ready soon cause it sounded like they were just cleaning them? anyways we ended up waiting around. all the while she’s greeting other customers friendly and telling them the hour wait. for a few, we even heard her telling them she was bumping up their place in line, people that were checked in after us. 30 min later, we figured there might have been a miscommunication so we asked again but all she did was tell us our place in line but still no update on a time frame. it ended up being over an hour wait until we finally got seated. we were expecting that kind of wait, but it was inconvenient seeing as if we were told the wait like every other customer she checked in, we could have gone somewhere else in the meantime. we ended up calling and spoke with the manager about the experience. he was nice but a lot of what we said happened was dismissed with excuses. he said he couldn’t do anything about our past bill but that he would send something via email for our next visit, still have yet to receive anything. it’s unfortunate because we had a really good experience with all the other staff that served us, but this one hostess really ruined the experience and the managers response didn’t help. it was overall uncomfortable seeing her attitude shift with us when we didn’t do anything to...
Read moreI have visited this restaurant 3 times in the span of a year and sadly I have always left this place feeling unwanted and uncomfortable. With the rise of popularity more people are beginning to visit this place and that's a great thing! The problem is that the customers are more American than any other nationality, and people of color or other non American nationalities always get looks or rude gestures from the racist people who visit this place. All three times I have visited I have been thru an uncomfortable situation and the employees just let it happen. I understand that this isn't the restaurant's, fault but spreading kindness should be something the employees can share or at least incorporate into a very visible and obvious situation amongst people inside of your establishment.
Food: Food is very tasty but there isn't a very big selection due to everything being super healthy. The kids menu is very limited. We loved the huge pancake for the kids but it can definitely be changed to not only a huge pancake and two strips of bacon. Some items claim to be spicy but I did try a chorizo chile spicy omelet and there was barely any chorizo or chiles inside the egg. All I got was egg!
Employees: Everyone is extremely kind but yes they will not stop or at least de escalate racist people.
$$$: it's a bit expensive.
We really hope this place decides to spread kindness in their establishment. In this day and age it should be something that we are...
Read moreHad been really looking forward to this new breakfast spot. Very busy for Sunday brunch as expected. Being able to get in queue online is nice. Fairly loud inside with a full house, but still able to hold a normal conversation. Service was fast and attentive, no problems there.
The food was a bit of a letdown though. I ordered the Salmon Eggs Benedict. Nothing egregious, perfectly serviceable meal. But everything was just slightly off in various ways that let me personally disappointed. Examples include, potatoes that were just slightly undercooked and served lukewarm. Two eggs, on the same plate, one overcooked, the other undercooked. Hollandaise that was overwhelmingly lemony. I might have forgave that the whole thing was on ciabatta rather than an English Muffin, but the other trivialities all summed up to a disappointing meal.
I think the fact that it was all so very close to good, and just missed somehow made it all the more frustrating. I'm nitpicking to be sure. I easily chalk it all up to being new and very busy. I'll give it another try later. Maybe sample something simpler. My wife said her pancakes were "Fine." Damning with faint praise maybe. For now my rating is that it's merely ok,...
