Elite Bakery — Restaurant in Union City

This place has the best guava cake my wife and I can find in the Bay Area! We ordered one for our son's third birthday and asked if we could use our own cake decorations (The Good Dinosaur) and they gladly said yes. They even made an awesome volcano! They also have some great chicken kelaguen and red rice during the weekends.

UPDATE (12/29/2020): So ever since this picture was taken, we’ve gone back to Elite Bakery multiple times and have had horrible experiences, mostly because of the customer service. Updating our rating from four stars to one star. We never got a cake as nice as in the picture below again. Instead, when we ordered way in advance, upon picking up the cake, the girl at the counter brought out a blank cake, and told us that the baker cannot decorate it because he was on vacation, and that they do not take refunds, but instead only give store credit. Our son’s birthday cake on that day was so disappointing because they ended up decorating it so generic.

We thought this was just a fluke, so the next birthday we tried again and got the same horrible experience. We had ordered way in advance and even bought some decorations online that we gave to them when we ordered, just like we did for that first cake in the picture. On the day of the birthday when we went to pick it up, the cake was not even decorated. We ended up angry and just took the cake and had to decorate it ourselves. What did we pay them for? This last experience was years ago now and we’ve never been back since.

Google reminds me pretty often how popular this picture below is, and I’m sure it’s brought a lot of business to the bakery, but I always have a bitter taste in my mouth now whenever google tells me this picture has gotten so many views (over 83,000 views). Beware of their customer service! Your child’s birthday cake may be a disappointment if you go here. Taking home a disappointment cake for your sons birthday is a horrible feeling. I’ve taken so long for this review because that first birthday cake in the picture was pretty awesome, and because of that I am always on the borderline with updating my review to negative, but with all the views this picture gets, I feel all those people deserve to hear the rest of the story. If you come here just to pick up food, you probably will have a good experience, but if you’re ordering a cake, be careful. These experiences ruined the place for us. This bakery is a pure rip off. First of all, their baker has a big time attitude and thinks that he is a top chef in the world. He is arrogant and thinks that you have to work on his time and not your time. Second it is overly price, third the decors we provided were not all use and some were not return. Imagine we have to provide the decors. What the F. If my sister didn't talk to this troll in the first place I would have went somewhere else. The cake is ok not that great, the decors my wife have provided made look good. Do yourself a favor there are far better bakery than this but if you want to try it you guys are free. The hands down best damn bakery in town. Owners are from Guam and make the best island style empanadas. Beyond that, they can basically make any type of cake you need.
