I went with a few of my middle school band members along with a few high schoolers and my band director after a band event. It was about 15 of us not really sure. When we got there we got seated fairly quickly however it a while for us to get menus. When we got our menus the waitress came over and threw the menus on our table along with the silverware. Then after about 5 minutes we got our orders taken. It took a good 10-29 minutes for us to get drinks. In between that time my band director asked for our food to go because we all had to get back to school. We finally got our drinks the straws weren't distributed with. The waitress forgot all of our straws except for 1 out of the 4 at my table. I got a straw from my friend at another table, but my friends didn't have straws so I went to the counter- in the most polite tone- and said, "Can we have two straws?" and the waitress said, "Yeah" with the most stank face and tone while throwing the straws at me! I then went back to my table and all of my friends were laughing because they saw what had happened. Finally, when the waitress came over to our table to give us our tickets/receipts she asked who had what and I told her that I had he chicken and shrimp and she gave me the ticket and rolled her eyes! The waitress had on purple/lavender pants and had green-brownish eyes with dark brown hair. She way very rude and to my other friends on another table also. But overall, the food was great. I'm happy but kinda irritated that I chose this place to eat at, and hopefully I'll bring my...
Read moreWow!! Where to start? My wife and I ordered ~$80 in sushi takeout, about 7 or 8 rolls, hoping to enjoy a diner and movie night at the house. Once we were home and had all the containers opened the wind was gone from our sails. The rolls were loose, and sparingly covered with rice that had been overcooked and under seasoned. The only item in the rolls with a fresh flavor was the cucumber. The tuna, eel, and shrimp lacked any flavor or texture of an ingredient that was fresh or properly prepared. Even the palate cleansing pickled ginger has soured. I imagine this restaurant gets all it's ingredients pre-made, pre-cooked, and pre-cut. I recommend if you are looking for a sushi fix to hold out until you can get to the Nashville or Memphis area. If you're absolutely dead set on giving this place a try I suggest ordering one roll to begin. If you can choke it down, then you can consider punishing your mouth and wallet...
Read moreVery seldom do we stumble on a quality restaurant in Podunk towns in the South. But Yamatos is amazing. They could easily be a top contender for a Diamond rating. But they're geared more to satisfy the local population and passing Highway traffic. It is owned and operated by a genuine Japanese Chef...and it becomes apparent from the first bite to the last on any menu item. Incredible. Their yum-yum sauce brings back wonderful memories of dining in Kyoto, Japan. Nothing is second rate. So excellent just writing this review has my mouth watering to go eat there right now!! For those of you Scallop lovers, you may think other restaurants offering is great. Let me tell you. You have never enjoyed a perfect Scallop till you bite into a Yamato prepared Scallop. Perfect in every way !!! Give them a try. You...
