Chipotle 10-13-25 I visited the Union Township location in New Castle, PA this evening for a carne asada bowl. I was told there would be @ 5 minute wait for the carne asada. I said no problem. While I was waiting I observed 3 employees, a male who was busy preparing the carne asada and 2 females. One of the females was on her phone and the other was chatting up the boy fixing the asada. I also noticed that the trash was overflowing and the tables were dirty and in need of busing. I asked the girl talking to the boy if she wanted me to bus the table while I waited. She thought I was serious. I also mentioned that the garbage was overflowing. She replied, that wasn’t her job and that she wasn’t doing that. She said that they shouldn’t have to do that for the money they got paid. From what I could see she was getting paid to stand around and talk to other employees while they were working and distract them from it and make me wait longer for my order. Speaking of my order, I asked for a side of the red chimichurri and was told they were out. I guess making more of that wasn’t in her job description either. Also the rice was undercooked and crunchy. All and all not a good experience and probably won’t be back. Pictures available if anyone is interested. Read moreAlthough my fiance was awaiting the opening of Chipotle, I can say it was incredibly rushed and training was not on their forefront of needs beyond opening later than expected.
Since the store is new and every person who loves other locations was eager, it really did sour the experience due to the stores size. The wait times (as expected for a new store) are very long even if ordered online.
Ordering online is also a weird experience. They give a time roughly a half hour after ordering, but I feel it is being prepared at the time it is put in then it just... Sits. I have had Chipotle a few times now from other locations and normally ordered to pick up. The food was never old or soggy. My experience from this location is always old when picking up from their time they say it will be ready but when it sits there for 25 minutes, a burrito more looks like the ingredients are wrapped into a piece of 1 ply toilet paper.
Which brings me to the food. Again, I have never had an experience as I did today spending $30 to pick up soggy food. I got a burrito with the regular fixings on the inside, but by the time I got home (7 minutes away) the burrito I ordered was so soggy when I grabbed it, it just ripped into pieces of paper and it spilled everywhere. After picking up what didn't fall out of the wrapper, I had to put it in a bowl.
So I go for the chips and queso. The queso wasn't even warm, but the worst part of the food experience was the chips were from the day prior. I asked a staff member why the chips felt old and stale. I was told that since I ordered food around 12pm, the residual food from yesterday just got used the following day. So that means most toppings, meats, chips, etc were from the day prior.
Imagine keeping a bag of chips completely opened all day and night with wind blowing on the chips. My chips were chewey. I didn't expect a chain whose whole slogan was "we start every day fresh" and the only fresh thing I got was a fresh new headache on the rush on opening the store to inevitably have to wait.
I will, myself, give it another chance in a few months while they learn from their mistakes but I can say I would rather travel to Boardman and eat in the store would be a...

Took my grandma with me for her first time and she was very disappointed. Drove 35 mins to the dentist, after my face was numb wanted to get some food was very unhappy. My total came to $35 dollars for just the two of us?? We were very confused on how it was so expensive but didn’t get a receipt. The food quality was terrible. Chicken was black it was burnt so bad. Didn’t get greeted when we walked in. They were just standing there all talking with their cellphones. There was a blonde girl that took our order and felt like she didn’t want to be at her job. She ended up spilling half my bowl and never put in more or started over just said oops, dropped cups and kept forgetting what I asked her. None of them have hair nets on especially the blonde girl that has two big long pieces just dangling above your food. When she was done with us, she proceeded to cuss and another associate yelled at her. More customers came in and had to wait while they stood there on their phones and walked in the back. One girl was holding her vape in her hand for a while before she proceeded to go to the back to do who knows what and not take care of the line of customers that was growing. They didn’t have forks and ig delivery paper? Talked to a delivery guy that was very unhappy with them. He came up to us and asked how the food was. I said it was terrible and was actually written the review as he was speaking. Said he smelled the burntness outside and he never eats here bc his customers just complain to him about how bad the food is after he drops it off. He was very happy that we were actually writing a review on how bad it is in there. I could go on more about how dirty the floors and tables were in there and overall the environment was not friendly nor welcoming for new customers. Could very much use some...
