This place has a lot of great reviews on Grubhub, so I had really high hopes that this would be my go-to breakfast place. I was beyond disappointed!
The good: they have a digital way of placing an order.
The bad: the estimated pick up times suck, and they don't prepare the order the way you indicate in the order.
The ugly: I watched the woman who readies the order for pick up touch: paperbags, a carton, several receipts, a stapler, her clothes, and the countertop ... all before putting her hands on a bagel (putting cream cheese on it and cutting it, and I'm not talking fingertips).
Bonus 1: I LOVE waiting 30 minutes to get over easy eggs, soggy toast, and canned corned beef hash without the crispy crust top- especially when I ordered "over medium" and specifically asked for the corned beef hash to be cooked well done so it's crispy.
but hey... to get over medium and the crispy top on corned beef hash, it's supposed to take over 30 minutes, right?
Bonus 2 conversation: Me: How much longer? Woman: 2 minutes Me: Ok, bc I've watched several orders go out before mine. Man: Do you have a menu Woman 2: Grubhub JUST sent this to us. Me thinking to myself: yeah, 25 minutes ago. Me outloud: No. Grubhub is the reason I even knew about this place. If you can't handle a Grubhub order that got me here, why would I come back? AND...What I'm grossed out about is Woman 1 touching stuff. Man: but ma'am, she's not touching food. Me: YES, SHE IS. Man: no, she isn't. Me: I WATCHED HER touch then touch a bagel. Man: walks away Woman 1: goes back to readying bags
Is it all bad? no. Just know what to order: you can get bagels & muffins quickly.
As for me?...
Read moreThey don’t like when you correct their mistakes apparently. They have young staff who barely knows how take orders or process them correctly and unless you go with the flow you will feel the dislike. If things were ran in order with a Full staff that cares (the older ladies are sweet) then no issues would need to be addressed. Makes me feel uncomfortable whenever I walk in or order. Will definitely be looking for a new place to order from. Plus food is hit or miss. Only one cook actually makes the food delicious and that is the female manager. If she could prepare my food and I could order with the seasoned staff then I’d still patron. Other than that food is bland and not well prepared. Money was DEF wasted today with a disgusting sandwich I had to pick over. Was overcharged a few times due to young staff not knowing what they were doing and all I want to do now if barf up the food that I had for breakfast. Started off so well until they had an issue with me speaking up on their mistakes which was about my 2nd visit. Not saying it wasn’t corrected but If I’m paying then I expect my food to be prepared the way it should be, receive it fresh, not cold w/great service. Not huffs and puffs or saying my name in disgust when I order. So it’s either personal towards me or they truly are this inconsistent with service and food. Either way I won’t be servicing a place with such unprofessionalism, flaky food and lack of appreciation for customers. I told the delivery driver to have a good day and he said whatever as he walked away like wow. Today was...
Read moreHad a very bad experience with the restaurant several months ago when I ordered breakfast through a 3rd party site. The owner, Peter, called me directly to ask if he could fix the situation. I get it, you want your customers to be happy and keep business coming through the door. We came to a solution, that I call the restaurant directly for future orders. And he asked that I call them back when we had additional needs. Word of mouth is the best advertising after all. With that being said, I called the restaurant today to see if we could work with them to get our clients fed, trying to give this another try. Store - "Hi Cozy's". Me- "Yes, hi. May I speak to the owner?" Store - "You have the wrong number." Me - ???Is this Cozy Corner? Store - Yes, Union. Me - Ok, can I speak to the owner, I forgot his name. Store- Peter? Me- Yes, that's him, may I speak with him please. Store - And what is this in reference to? So I give this woman my name and the name of the agency, but at the same time thinking, "This is going to be a problem if I can't even speak with the owner to ask a simple question". So as she went to get Peter, I promptly disconnected the call. I was always taught that if you don't like the service you get, take your business elsewhere...and I shall. I shall take these 45 meals to another restaurant that has workers that won't lie as soon as they pick up the phone or make me jump through hoops in order to try and give...
