Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Union

Drove all the way here to finally redeem my free custard after purchasing 7 previous treats and receiving the rewards for it on the app. I arrived and ordered my small custard and proceeded to show my app/rewards...they scanned it and that's when the issue began. The ice cream sat at the counter melting as a girl began to explain that my number was not working due to the iPad or issues with the system. She called someone and was told that they were having difficulties on their end and that they would fix it and send me an updated reward for my NEXT visit. What about the current visit? I wasted gas and time to drive here to be told that I couldnt redeem my ice-cream that I had earned after just coming to the same location days before to finally purchase my 7th treat and finally earn the reward. The girl there just seemed confused and didn't know how to operate the system or whatever and kept telling me it would be fix for my next time I came. Meanwhile I stood there watching the ice cream melt and my night...

It feels like every time I come to this Rita's their prices are lowered for a large Gelati. Fast service, friendly staff, decent size parking lot with a bench to sit at. Busy area just off downtown Union & Rte 22. Closes at 10pm tho, wish they were able to stay open to 11 or 12 am. I enjoy their icee flavors but it would be nice if they had the coffee ans...

I would say that whenever I want ice cream, Rita's is one of the most popular places in Union, New Jersey, where I can get any flavor I want with a variety of toppings.
