Screamin’ Chameleon — Restaurant in Universal City

My husband and I love this place! We originally came for the food trucks, but after getting drinks at the bar a few times we’ve come to love the whole place. For starters, the owners are wonderful people. We met them one night while sitting out on o e of the patios. They are very down to earth people just trying to make a living. There are several seating areas outside to enjoy your food, live music on the weekends and some ice cold drinks. There are also some outdoor games as well. It is a very family friendly place. With that said, if you do bring your children, please keep them near you and please don’t let them run all over the place jumping off tables. Some of us older folks don’t want littles constantly in our space throwing footballs over our heads while we are trying to relax and eat. Back to bar itself, every bartender has been very nice and they work hard to get the line down quickly when there is one. Inside the bar is plenty of seating options on different levels. There are chance machines as well as a dart board, pool table and several card and board games. Prices for the food trucks and the bar are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place. Though they hadn't officially celebrated their grand opening when I visited, the ambiance and offerings were already top-notch. The establishment boasts a pool table and darts for those looking to engage in some friendly competition. But the real showstopper is the expansive outdoor beer garden. It's a lively space, complete with multiple food trucks offering a variety of delectable treats and live music that sets the perfect mood for a fun evening out.

The staff deserves a special mention. The bartender was not only skilled but also incredibly friendly, ensuring our drinks were perfect and our experience memorable. The owner, too, was exceptionally welcoming, going out of his way to ensure we felt at home.

I wanted to share my recent experience at Screamin’ Chameleon. Unfortunately, our interaction with one of the staff members named TABBY left much to be desired. After many rude remarks slamming items one of my final straw was when my sister asked if a drink was her lemonade, the server responded sarcastically, saying, "No, that’s not your lemonade; that’s pink." While we understood she was referring to the drink's color, it was unhelpful and made us uncomfortable—strawberry lemonade is a possibility too! I brought it to her attention instead of apologizing she again gave a sarcastic remark.

I recognize that everyone can have a bad day, but that doesn't excuse unprofessional behavior. We didn’t do anything to deserve this kind of service.
