Pros: Some of the other reviewers were spot on. The indoor decor & ambiance are great. The service was consistent and timely. I was over the moon because I asked for and received a vegan menu. Cons: However, the food, for me, was not the greatest. I've had other Mexican vegan food that was full of more intense flavors and variety. There seems to be a repeat of refried beans as the star ingredient and radishes as garnish across all the vegan dishes that I selected. I didn't taste any variety of spice that is synonymous with Cantina food. We even had to make a request for a more spicy salsa option and my 6 yr old kept saying even that wasn't spicy for them. I usually take pics of our food (thinking of future reviews) and was simply underwhelmed with the flavor profiles here that I almost didn't bother. I chose to snap a pic in the end as proof that I was in fact there. If you're into the appearances and pleasantries without the authentic vegan mexican profile then this is the place for you. But though I'm happy for the full vegan menu, I think they need to improve what they're offering to show their true value for Mexican flare.

We came to this restaurant in group of 12 people for team dinner. We had really good time. Food was great, staff was super friendly. Queso is a must try.

Absolutely amazing on the inside, pictures don't do this place justice. The patio is small but very nice. The décor and ambiance are top notch. I loved the palm tree, hanging garden, marble-style tables, archways, and ceiling designs. The lights were dim and the music was the right volume. THEY LIGHT THEIR QUESO ON FIRE. The salsa is very different but in a good way, it is more sweet than it is spicy. I was slightly disappointed when our entrees came out. The food is just too expensive for what it is. Chicken Quesadilla, rice, and beans for $20? Naw, naw. The Quesadilla tortilla needed to be fried and the Quesadilla itself was pretty wimpy. The refried beans are too thick and flavorless, but the rice was above average. The serving size for both was extremely small. Don't even get me started on the Enchiladas Verde. My wife and I didn't even finish half of them. All in all, this place is aesthetically phenomenal, but their food is subpar. Their beer selection is lacking and they don't have any on draft. My suggestion would be to go for happy hour and get the apps. They have paper straws and an extensive Vegan menu.

I wanted to like Diego's just based on the fact we've had such good experiences at Frida's, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. We walked in to place a carry out order and were the first party seated at the bar. We ordered some enchiladas, a fish taco, and some rice. We paid in cash and at first the change came back $10 short. Upon getting the bartender's attention the first thing he says it that he owes us $10. It's a busy night, he's moving around, not a super big deal. The couple seated next to us gets their food. We ordered for 3, they ordered for 2. After the couple next to them gets served, I see a conversation happening between the bartender and who I assume to be the manager. We were offered chips, salsa, and drinks while we waited. Now, we had been told multiple times that our order was on its way out, but people who arrived after us were served first. After waiting for an hour we finally got our food. The couple next to us had already finished eating and left. It's apparent that our order never went in, yet no one was honest enough to say that. Upon arriving home, we opened the bag to chips and no salsa with mixed up lids on our food. I'm glad we caught it because we deal with different food allergies. Maybe it was just an off night or maybe it's a regular occurrence. The ambience was nice, the music was good, but I'm not sure if we'll...

I had the misfortune of dining at Diego's Cantina recently, and it was an unmitigated disaster. Our server, Angela, looked like she just rolled out of bed and put on the first thing she found on the floor. Her apron was filthy, and her shirt was covered in dog hair. But hey, maybe I could've overlooked the slovenly appearance if the service had been decent. Nope.

Angela was surly, inattentive, and seemed put off by our presence. She managed to screw up my margarita order not once, but twice. She also forgot to refill our drinks multiple times and took an inordinate amount of time to take our orders and deliver our food. To make matters worse, she got my order wrong, cold, and it tasted like cardboard.

Chicken and cheese? Are you kidding me? That's not Mexican food; that's an insult to Mexican food. She seemed completely uninterested in addressing our concerns or apologizing for the mistakes.

The only thing that didn't suck was the decor. But who cares about decorations when the service and food are this atrocious? It's clear that the owner needs to step up their game and hire more qualified staff. Servers like Angela are a liability, and it's only a matter of time before they drive away even more customers.

Unless you enjoy being treated like dirt and eating subpar food, stay FAR, FAR AWAY from Diego's Cantina. One star is even too generous...

This was my second time eating here. We came about a year and a half ago and loved the food; however, the service was not very good. We decided to try again - this time with our three kids and our parents. The food was good, though not as good as we remembered. Our biggest problem, again, was with the service. Our meal was actually going fine until the end. We ordered dessert and asked for the bill at the same time because the kids were getting restless. We paid the bill and had been waiting a little over 10 minutes for the grilled banana when one of the hostesses came over and said to my husband that the next table had arrived and was waiting. A few problems on this: (1) My mother-in-law had paid the bill and was clearly in charge -- so why not speak to her? It is interesting that one always goes to the male at the table. (2) Their website says each table sits for 90 minutes. Our reservation was for 5:45 and it was 6:45 when the hostess came over - technically we still had 30 minutes at our table had we chosen to use it. (3) Before you come over to basically kick us out of your restaurant, perhaps you should check if we are waiting for food. To be fair to the restaurant, after 60 minutes, my kids were getting a bit wild. We were ready to leave. We wanted to leave. We were just waiting for the dessert we...
