Bar Sardine has so much potential to be good, but the night of our first visit, something was very, very off. It started when we walked in and there was no one at the host stand to greet us. After a bit, someone walked up (the chef?) to ask our names and confirm reservation. No pleasantries were exchanged and we were quickly taken to our table. This is where the real issues came to surface. For one, it was loud in the room and getting louder as more people arrived. We were handed menus and it was a full 20 minutes before anyone showed up to walk through the menu and share specials. We also had to ask for drinks. Meanwhile, the table next to us and the table next to them both had either food or drinks spilled on them. The table to our left finally called someone over to complain about not getting food. It was another 20 minutes before we could order and at that point we were making a solid dent in the wine. By the time our food came from the kitchen, we had been sitting for almost an hour total. The server brought us a free wine refill to add to the bottle we ordered (thank you!) but no member of management was ever present. We skipped on dessert and when the bill came, to her credit, the server comped the two appetizers we had ordered. As for the spot, prime walking area with outside tables, charming decor and great French music playing as we walked in, but the noise drowned it out and the place had the vibe of a college bar rather than a nice restaurant. I’m hoping this establishment listens and learns because I do see potential if they act on all the...
Read moreWelcome to my review. I am a Godly Man and Navy Veteran who loves great food and service. I give a fair review and my view of the experience. This is only one side and my experience. Your experience maybe different, so share it. This place was lackluster when it comes to service. At the gentleman who was our server. The other servers were very attentive to their guest. He never addressed me, only my wife, he never asked how my food was, and he never asked if I want more tea. We had two glass and both sat empty for awhile. If you bring out room temp tea, ask the guest if they would like more ice. There's an idea..... Now most of the food is really good but the BURRATA & RATATOUILLE was the worse dish they have. Very small serving of veggies with a big ball of cheese. Once I broke open the ball of cheese, I could never taste the veggies again. The cheeseburger is bigger than this dish! Why didn't you come by and ask how our food was? Makes no sense! Over priced drinks but the wine was priced love any other place for a glass or bottle I'm still upset I spent this kind of money and was never treated like a customer. Worse part this was my first experience and now I have a bad taste in my...
Read moreI wish I could give zero stars. My experience at this place was absolutely appalling, and I cannot recommend it to anyone. First off, we spent $300 for a meal that wasn’t worth a fraction of that price. The food was bland, overpriced, and poorly prepared. But what truly ruined our night was the service and the completely unacceptable behavior from the staff.
After sitting down to enjoy our meal, we were rudely asked to move so that a group of underage girls could sit at the bar and drink. This request was not only unprofessional but also alarming. To make matters worse, the staff was incredibly condescending, treating us as if our presence was an inconvenience.
And it gets worse — there were racist undertones in the way we were spoken to. We felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome, which is inexcusable in any establishment, let alone one claiming to be a “premium” dining experience. It’s shocking how poorly we were treated, especially for the price we paid.
I will never set foot in this place again, and I highly encourage others to avoid it as well. There are plenty of great restaurants out there that treat their customers with respect, unlike this one. Save your time,...
