I have stopped by Cutters Point many times on my way to work in the past year. Their service is often a bit slow as they have both in-person and drive-thru service, and usually only have two baristas working at a time. The coffee is good enough and they have a variety of pastries and breakfast items (though they are often out of breakfast burritos).
What prompts me to write this review, however, is my experience from this morning. I walked in to grab a 16oz Americano and stood in front of the register waiting for assistance. One of the baristas was helping a drive-thru customer and the other was standing by the espresso machine, wiping her nose with her bare right hand. That barista then turned to me shortly and asked what I'd like to drink. I relayed my order and she then proceeded to grab a cup and start making it without even attempting to clean her hands. I stopped her from continuing, asked her to please clean her hands and only then make my coffee. She obliged, though the other barista seemed to give her a smirk about this.
Working in healthcare, I perhaps have a higher standard for personal hygiene. But having clean hands at all times, particularly after touching a potentially infectious part of the body like the nose, should be an absolute no brainer in a food service role.
I liked having the occasional coffee from Cutters Point before, but I won't be stopping at this location...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame here to study. Placed an order and sat down, everything was normal. I started to notice that the 2-3 people who ordered after me received their drinks and sandwiches first. Then the power went out. I got up to see if my drink may have been possibly been done but nope. I asked about it and they said to come back the next day cause they donāt know when the power will be back, now that part is understandable.
What made me irritated was that I ordered before those people that received their things FIRST, and I ordered ONE THING, a simple vanilla steamer. No apologies were given before I left and when I came back. If I had remembered that the total was only $3.96 then there was no point in coming back for $4, but what? let them keep it?? They literally apologized to everyone but me. Told everyone else to āhave a great day!ā but me, the customer who was obviously not as important as the others. This very much felt racially motivated. Also overheard someone say that in her four years this never happened, referring to the power outage, then shouldnāt the service be better than this with how much experience you haveā¦
Service at Cutterās Point in Gig Harbor actually has more quality to it because they make sure everyone feels welcomed and acknowledged, keep in mind it wasnāt even...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDuring the week staff are wonderful even the other staff over the weekend. But this weekend staff on September 22 was horrible.
I'm the type of person that barely complains when the order is different but I would say my drink tasted so revolting. I can taste uncleaned espresso machine because how sour and acidic it makes it. Not only that but we asked for a oat milk decaf mocha frap for a friend who is allergic to dairy, they gave us a regular mocha frap with dairy. Which is a hazard. I do not like these new workers yes they are new but they should've known better about cleaning the espresso machine frequently. Yes the new weekend staff was nice but is under skilled and lack of awareness. For now I'm avoiding going to the weekend because the weekday staff are amazing and knowledgeable.
But thanks to the one lady in pearl Street for remaking the awful mistake that the university place location made. She made...
