Now looking at the appearance of this from the curb appeal it has done so be it also as you enter what cells Joy Teriyaki is the kind service and it actually hot fresh chicken beef salad Etc meals they serve. A friend of mine one time didn't care for the teriyaki sauce it was his first time so he didn't eat only a few pieces, and the owner / waitress asked him is everything okay he said yeah it's fine I just thought the teriyaki sauce was not to my liking I'm not find teriyaki sauce. Which is a mystery to me why did we order teriyaki? The waitress / owner immediately said she would replace it he was insisting on no that's okay but she came back with a delicious meal hot and fresh with no teriyaki on top it had the chicken and the beef of course it is she did not charge us wow that was excellent customer service she's always very friendly Little Broken English but there hard-working and focused hun freshness and very affordable especially lunch specials definitely go try it sometime hit the combo. Attention attention new owners took over the rice was under cooked & Hard the chicken was not evenly cooked and parts of the beef or hard and tough the teriyaki sauce that used to be good or if it was horrible and runny and did not taste like Teriyaki it had a bitter taste to it called to complain about the rice and manager or a person answering the phone said all okay that was it we called back and I said oh sorry they we found out its new owners they do not know how to cook the service is horrible the phone service is horrible waiting in line when you're at lunch time was annoying they are not going to last too long if they keep up this horrible attitude towards customers did not even talk to them or discuss it or just apologize they just said oh okay. What was that about, i do not think they will last very long if they don't take care of the local customers there are other Teriyaki places that have just opened...
Read moreVery disappointed in the food. Apparently there has been another ownership change. I’ve been eating at Joy for over 18 years, the original owner was amazing just like her food! Then Jennifer was really friendly and the food was delicious, she knew me by my order when I called which is always a plus! Since Jennifer left it’s been hit and miss when we order food from there but this was the worst food we have ever gotten from joy in all the years that we have been eating there. My Mongolian beef wasn’t edible, i’ve eaten Mongolian beef from multiple teriyaki places over the years and this was not something I wanted to consume. They do not make pork fried rice so I opted to order chicken fried rice and it was rather bland. The chicken teriyaki was meh. The sauce was thick and tasted like it came from a bottle, the rice was undercooked and hard and the chicken was over cooked. Very disappointing to spend $50 on dinner for my family of four and to not even eat it.
And to top it off the interior of the restaurant is looking rather rough. I was also very surprised to see teriyaki sauce in large warmer pan in the restaurant seating area.
I never write reviews but felt with how popular Joy is/has been over the years that new people looking to dine in a once awesome place don’t make the mistake to go when it’s not what it used to be. As sad as it is to say we will not be going back...
Read moreWe were craving teriyaki and this was one of the only places open late for DoorDash. Never heard of them, so I looked on Yelp for more reviews and photos. I should've listened to the negative reviews but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Big regret!!! We ordered 1 regular teriyaki chicken, 1 spicy chicken bowl and a strawberry bubble tea. As others have said on Yelp, the food is not like what is shown in the photos; especially the spicy chicken bowl. The regular teriyaki chicken was ok (nothing special) but there was no steam veggies as shown in the pic. As for the spicy chicken bowl.… It's basically plain chicken with some red "spicy" sauce poured all over. That sauce tasted like it had ketchup in it. After removing the chicken on top, the bowl mostly consisted of rice and some chopped up veggies that I didn't choose. The bubble tea was nothing spectacular. Quite disappointing and so not worth the price for all of this. You all should update your photos to show what the food actually look like. The spicy chicken bowl looks nothing like the picture you have shown. I would not order from this place again nor...
