MOD Pizza — Restaurant in University Place

Terrible customer service. I usually try to get to a take out place early so the food doesn’t sit and get cold waiting for me to get there, and I was about 5 minutes earlier than when the food was supposed to be done so I wasn’t surprised that it wasn’t ready. No problem. The person at the counter asked me to wait outside and they would bring the pizza out when it was ready. Makes sense, with COVID you don’t want people hanging around in the store. So I stepped outside and waited where they could see me. After waiting 15 minutes (10 minutes passed when it was supposed to be ready) I went back into the store to see how much longer it would be and the pizza was just sitting there on the counter getting cold. I pointed out that it would have been nice if someone had let me know it was ready and the employees just acted like it was my fault that I didn’t know that it was ready. They didn’t even look at me, just shook their heads and gave a weak nonapology. They clearly didn’t care at all. Mod is decent for a fast pizza place, but since they don’t seem to care if they get my business I’m quite sure I can find another place...

Food is always yummy. I always get a cauliflower crust and it is so good. (Granted I haven't had regular pizza in about a year) I love how everyone can get exactly what they want (or don't want) on their pizza. The app is easy to navigate and it saves prior orders so you don't have to remember what was on the "best pizza ever" that you came up with last time. 🤙🏼 service when we went to pick up pizza was not bad, but I would have liked it if the cashier at least said someone to me like, "I'll be right with you". They advertise that you go right in to pick up to-go order. We did that and I didn't mind the wait, I just wish someone/anyone that was working had acknowledged our presence. These were younger "kids"and I know expectations are different, but still. Overall, I did not let that stand in the way of the delicious food that we always get from MOD, it didn't affect my five-star rating-who knows, someone might have been having a bad day. ❤️ (Why are you still reading? Pizza place is one of my favorites but my visit today irritated me. I am pregnant and don't need to eat a layer of half cook pizza dough that smears between your finger as well as watch my pizza sit and get cold then put in the box because the person making my pizza clearly needed help becuase the worker was overwhelmed. You know that freezer burnt taste when a pizza was barely cooked enough on top… that is what it tasted like but the bottom was a little charcoaled. It only irritated me because we waited 25 minutes or so or maybe more ( didnt keep count too closely) and didn't expect the long wait and pizzas that were after us were taken care of before us which is why it was taking so long. Advice would be to help the cooker if you see struggle so the pizzas already ordered can be taken care of instead of taking as many orders as you can then overloading the oven.
