UPDATE : A MANAGER DID REACH OUT AND REFUND MY $200. I APPRECIATE HER DOING SO. EVEN AFTER THAT I STILL WOULD NEVER GO BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
HERE IS MY $200 REVIEW. PLS DO NOT PURCHASE A PERSONAL TRAINER FITNESS PACKAGE WITH FQ.
The instructorâs are naive & and seem to bring their home life to their workplace. All of this was for my teen daughter who had her mind set to get in shape so we were all in and I bought the package that at the time seemed to be expensive but worth it. The issue I had was how hard it was for coaches to keep their appointments. The two coaches who were working with my daughter repeatedly canceled on us and usually at the very last min when my daughter was all dressed and pumped up to go. It was also difficult to reschedule the âmake upâsessions. Yoli was one of the trainers who was notorious for cutting out last min on my daughter it got to the point where Iâd call ahead to make sure she was even there before making the trip to the gym since a few times weâd show up for our scheduled session and she wasnât even there. The unprofessional behavior continued when on a Friday afternoon Yoli texted me a few hours before my daughters session to cancel and rebook for the following Monday and when I called ahead on Monday to confirm she was there, I was placed on hold for awhile and the staff returned to say she wasnât in and she doesnât even work on Mondayâs. No call from her, no text absolutely silent from Yoli. Unbelievably unprofessional and rude. At this point my daughter had had enough and I canât blame her for not wanting to return. I called and spoke to Madalyn and asked for my last two sessions to be credited back to me plus a $50 fee that was taken out of my account by mistake and FQ said theyâd refund it. Every time Iâd call to speak to the manger Madalyn, ( who seemed cordial and understanding) sheâd make some excuse to call me back after sheâd check with the admin on doing a refund but last time I called she said sheâd call me back after the New year holiday and never did. When I called FQ looking to speak to her on the 6th, the staff said she was on vacation until the 15th of Jan. If I had even the slightest clue that it was just âthat poorly runâ behind the scenes I wouldâve never spent $600 on 12 sessions. I had wished I had read the reviews some point to Yoli doing this to them, if I had seen the reviews I may have gone elsewhere. Yoli & the another young lady who was coaching my daughter ( forgot her name) we had a scheduled session with and when we showed up we abruptly came to find out she was no longer working there. Itâs ridiculous! FQ completely failed her. I wanted to like this place I was so happy and excited for FQ to come into our UP community, sadly I was very mistaken. I gave Madalyn ample time and opportunity to make this right and she went on vacation for 2 weeks and never bothered to call me or get back to me. Iâm cautioning anyone on doing business with FQ and will be making my voice heard loud and clear throughout our neighborhood groups and my female mom friends so that this doesnât happen to anyone else. My daughter lost out on her fitness goals and I lost out on time and $$. Iâll update my post if FQ makes the wrong right ( I certainly wonât be holding my breath) I will leave my story here for others to be warned and continue to voice my experience to my friends family and my UP...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible and disappointing customer service, lazy untrained employees, and terrible, dishonest, sneaky policies. When you walk in thereâs at least 4 employees sitting at the front desk lost in their own convos, they donât bother acknowledging or greeting you most of the time, and give all different information on policies that donât match up. They only care about pushing sales otherwise you barely get acknowledged.
I wanted to cancel my membership because itâs too far from my house and I have other gyms I go to instead. I initially called in and was told I could cancel over the phone. I was told my cancellation was processed. I was then billed again. When I realized it I called in again, and asked to talk to a manager. Conveniently they werenât available and I never got a call back even though I called 4.5 hours before the managers leave. I was told by the employee I spoke to, Libby, that my cancellation was definitely in the system now and I requested that I receive confirmation in writing via email that my cancellation was processed (since clearly they canât be trusted to actually process the cancellation). I never got the promised email confirmation so I repeated this whole process a second day in a row, speaking to a different employee (who told me my cancellation was still never processed) just to have the manager not bother to call me back again. I was also told different policies by different employees. First employee didnât mention a notice requirement, second said 25 days, third said 30 days. So I had to take an hour out of my busy day to drive over there and force a manager to do their job and speak to me, and of course they just claimed they have certain policies and canât help me, but in the same conversation said cancellation has to be processed by corporate then tells me âweâre not a corporate gym weâre family ownedâ so which is it?? She then clarified she meant the âmain officeâ not corporate out of state. It just seemed like a tactic to avoid accountability of poorly trained employees when it had been OVER 30 days since I initially requested to cancel and it wasnât handled correctly due to employees who are poorly trained and/or donât care. I asked for a higher ups information to contact & that person has not bothered to get back to me yet.
This is textbook behavior of gyms who brag cheap monthly dues but have hidden fees and make it a huge ordeal where you have to literally fight multiple employees just to cancel your membership. Itâs so distasteful that the only way you keep members is by forcing & tricking them.
Additionally, a friend of mine who was working there as a trainer briefly said he watched another girl get fired for wanting to leave work bc her father had a heart attack. He said he offered to take her client so she could leave and the manager said no and called the bigger boss to talk about the employees future with the company, then made her come back in on a later day just to fire her. This type of inhumane behavior is not that of a gym Iâd want a single penny of mine to go to, especially while claiming to be âfamily owned small businessâ. I DO NOT recommend this gym and can only hope they learn some humanity and to train their...
Read moreAfter reviewing the ratings for this gym it looks to me as if the majority of the 5 stars are fake. Just take a look at the other reviews they have left for other gyms. I assume this is to boost the algorithm for business. A lot of the unhappy reviews seem to align with what is actually happening at this gym.
If you are someone who needs to park in the disabled spots this place is not for you. I have reported multiple times of other gym goers who continue to park in the double lines. So if you need to exit your vehicle with a wheel chair and/or ramp. Please keep this in mind. The gym will not call the tow company even though this is a private lot and only businesses in the complex can call.
Male locker room/restroom: Size is small when comparing them to other gyms like LA/PF/GOLDS/CRUNCH. The bathroom is disgusting with water all over the floors and the mirrors have water damage. Other members who use the bathroom just don't seem to care as I have witnessed them punch the walls for fun. So you'll see knuckle dents on the wall next to the showers. This complaint is more against the folks you'll be surrounded with. No one seems to care that you are not allowed to take photos in the restroom.
Gym Area: Equipment is great no complaints here but could definitely use some fans on top of the ceiling as this place can get hot and humid. Music played on the speaker is obnoxiously loud. Depending on the time of day you will have kids/teens running thru the equipment. Members at this gym seem to not care about others for the most part. They will gather in large groups overcrowding the dumbbell and cable machine area with no respect to your own personal space. This gym allows people to record their workouts so if that bothers you then this place is not for you. The vibes you get from this gym is more of a social club / fashion show for wannabe influencers.
If you decide to cancel keep in mind they will charge you for the following month if you do not give them 25-30 days notice. SO do this a month ahead of schedule just to be safe or else they will just rip you off for an extra month even if you don't use the gym during that month. I was told you could cancel on the phone and when I attempted to do so I was then told by another rep that I had to come in and sign a letter requesting to cancel. (They did not make me sign anything and it was all verbal)
This caused me to be a few days short of the 25 day rule and was told "they could not do anything about it" Please keep in mind that if you do sign up around the spring/summer time they will not mention the annual fee that everyone is charged around June/Aug. So not only will you be putting a down payment but the annual fee will be right around the corner. The rep that signed me up failed to...
