Brandon's Diner — Restaurant in Upland

The only reason I gave this place 2 stars is because the building was new and nice. That's where the niceness ends. I was visiting my family from out of town. My Mom called to place an order to go so we could take it back home and relax. The lady who answered and started taking the order was so rude and nasty! In the middle of my Mom speaking the employee literally said "Stop talking, Let me write this down." WHO DOES THAT??? She could have approached that way differently. Then she proceeded to put us on hold and a different employee came on the line to finish taking the order. On the plus side, this one was much more pleasant. We were told 30min to pick up the food. We arrived and went in about 35min after ordering and we were told the food wasn't ready. We ended up sitting there another 40 minutes waiting on a to go order. Meanwhile we watch dine in customers come in, place their orders and were served their food while we were waiting on an order placed AN HOUR AGO!! To top it off they got pat of the order wrong and the "manager" proceeded to argue with my Mom telling her that's how she ordered it. BTW...It was the rude manager who told my Mom to stop talking over the phone...we recognized the voice. There was 1 employee that was friendly and tried to be helpful which was the only reason we still paid for our food and left. But that was the first AND ONLY time we will ever visit this place again. I've never seen such disrespect and poor customer service. Especially by someone who's supposed to be a manager and setting an example. And to have waited well over and hour to pick up a to go order was insane. I'm still trying to understand how customers who came in after us were served before us while we were being told "its busy and the kitchen is behind..." I'm trying not to. Make it a racially motivated issue, but, I guess the kitchen was just behind on our food that day and others orders AFTER ours were...

Jen and I went there for dinner on Friday 18 June.

The restaurant is very dark with dark grey paint and appointments, a major contrast to the bright colors of the former establishment.

Although we were alone in the entrance area, we waited about 10-minutes to be acknowledged and finally seated.

The music playing was just loud noise and set the tone for dinner.

Rosa was our server and seamed to be the only server on our side of the restaurant, although she was very busy, she somehow found time to give us great attention. I can say that Rosa was the sunlight in the dark.

I ordered a bacon and cheese omelet. My sides were biscuits and gravy and a blueberry muffin. The omlet was more cheese than bacon and greasy. I took home the sides and liked the biscuits and gravy but the muffin was store bought.

Jen had a chile rieno and potato taco. The plate came with rice and beans and a bonus large plate of chips and salsa.

The chips were good, the salsa was red water, The potato taco was a basic hard shell and was only par. The rice and beans were standard issue with really no flavor. The Chile rieno was horrible.

Rosa to the rescue, offered to replace the offensive article with another item of Jen's choice and they settled on another potato taco.

Rosa kept our drinks full and again was the sunlight literally in the dark.

Overall, I'd say if you're looking for a diner experience, I'd suggest Corkie's, it's right up the street, lots of light and pretty much the same food just a...

Just know it's not a family resturant.we were treated like as if we had animals with us.THE HOSTESS had to ask a manager where to sit us because we had kids.when all we had was three kids . They decide to sit us in a corner of a resturant knowing at 9pm they have karaoke and supposedly no kids were permitted in that area.. so why would they sit us there. We were approached by a hostess asking us if we were gunna stay for karaoke so if they knew kids were no supposed to be there how come the hostess or server did not mention it once..just tried everything to rush us out..next day I complained about our very uncomfortable 75 dinner .with Enrique the manager that said he was the manager that night.. whome Ive never seen on the floor at all. Few days later I decided to call because nothing was done when I called Enrique the manager answered the phone and when I told him about the situation he just laughed and hung up I don't recommend anybody coming to this restaurant this particular restaurant maybe other Brandon's diners in different locations but not this one. And if you arr reading this ANNA BENITEZ OWNER OF THIS RESTURANT it also seems you dont care as well because you don't care to respond to our complaint because both managers i spoke to said they were gunna tell you.
