Mama's Italian Grill — Restaurant in Upper Macungie Township

My father suggested Mamas food because they order from there weekly at his job and that the food was good. We ordered three sandwiches and three small fries online. The menu had a nice breakdown of all the ingredients for each sandwich ordered. It seemed like it would make it hard to make mistakes on the orders. I ordered one steak sandwich with fried onions and ketchup, one cheesesteak hoagie(shredded lettuce and tomato) with fried onions, American cheese, and mayo, and my sandwich... a cheesesteak with mozzarella, ketchup & mayo. I got home and we started getting our food sorted out. Unfortunately all the sandwiches had onions on them and I cant eat onions. I called to see if I could get it replaced and the man on the phone seemed like he didnt want to do anything. I told him I wanted a new one (making an extra trip to get it) and he told the cook and the cook was yelling and cursing in the background saying he knows he got it right. I told them I would bring it back and show them. I got bundled up and went back to the restaurant. I handed the guy at the counter looked at it and was like "ok" but the cook came over aggressively looked at it and yelled "NO!" He proceed to tell me that I brought back the wrong sandwich and said it was the one with American cheese (meaning I would have perfectly removed all the shredded lettuce and tomatoes just to get a new sandwich). If that sandwich had American on it, that means he screwed up the cheese too. Since I was being accused of lying about whatever he thought I was trying to pull, I got frustrated and we started to have a back and forth going. The counter guy stepped in and the cook went and made my new sandwich. Now, let me say, the food quality was good, tasted good, and had very large portions. That's what make it a shame. I wouldn't have even minded the mess up. Accidents happen. But, on the phone they asked if it was possible I was mistaking the cheese for onions, then the cook angrily denying he made a mistake in the background, the cook arguing that I brought the wrong sandwich like I'm trying some type of scam, making me realize he messed up the cheeses too, and not understanding basic customer service. I have been hearing about their food for a while and the FOOD lived up to its reputation. The customer service and getting the order right...

this place is very very rude . I call to place a order for delivery the guy kept cutting me off didn't let me finish my order then I call back because they over charge me (again because he didn't let me finish my order ) they kept putting me on hold and I hear the laughing and joking around while I was on hold they kept passing the phone to different people and they kept putting me on hold when he finally pick up i was trying to explain to him about my order he told m that they was very busy and he will call me back to get my card information and hung up on me then i call back to cancel my order because i did not like the customer service

then another time I went inside to eat the lady came up to me and ask if I was ready to order I told her I needed a few more min I didn't know what I wanted she kept coming up to me asking me if I was ready she went in the back and whisper something to the owner then the owner came over and ask if we was ready to order I told him that me and my niece was not ready and we needed more time everyone was starving at us , more people kept coming up to use asking if we was ready I felt like I was being watch because i am a black women i feel like i was being rush to order

I used to really like this place but lately their service has really deteriorated This is just one example of my recent experiences lately and it will definitely be the last. I placed an online order at 2:08 PM for pick up at 4:45 PM. I walked in the door at 4:47 PM and told the girl I was there to pick up my online order. I repeated my order of a whole lg pie with meatballs and a large chicken Parmesan sandwich. She checked & said it would be just a minute. Five minutes goes by, then 10 minutes & still nothing. Another girl asks what I'm waiting on. I repeat my order, she checks and says just another minute. Another 10 minutes goes by and I see the guy put a pie in the box, puts it on the counter and says here ya go. Good thing I check. It was only 1/2 meatball on the pie. He apologized and says just 1 more minute. My order is already 25 minutes late and I have to wait for another pie?? He puts together a new pie & puts it in the oven for exactly 1 minute and took it out. How can it even be cooked when I had to wait 20 minutes for the first one? And the chicken Parmesan sandwich that was also part of the order had been laying on the counter for that entire 25 minute time getting cold. I'm never order from this place again. Their...
