This is the first time I've had this resturants food. I ordered through grubhub, and it was delivered hot.
The pierogis were a little overcooked with no salt or seasoning.
The bacon cheese fries were a little soggy with no salt. Both were good enough, but there should just be an option to salt them, because if they are not fresh (as in delivery) they don't salt well.
I really wanted antipasto, but for some reason theirs came with shrimp, so I opted for the pastrami salad. It was kinda disgusting trying te eat chewy fatty meat with salad, compared to normal ham & salami (this did not drop reviewas it was my choice). The salad in general was good but would have been nice if it had tomatoes. There was no option for salad dressing, but they honored the notes and provided what was asked.
The meatball sub is a had 4 meatballs when It clearly had enough room for 6. I noticed many resturants lately are doing this to cut costs, but to be fair it is a lot cheaper than most places. Though I'd pay another 2-3$ to get it filled with 6.
The BLT was good, but not a fan of the finely shredded lettuce. That type of lettuce doesn't hold up if you want to eat it as a next day leftover. They did not add extra Mayonnaise as requested.
I was very disappointed with the zucchini fries. There was almost no zucchini in any of them. They were all breading. I've had zucchini fries in many places so it was not a loss due to frying, it was an intentional move to cut costs. Kinda sad since it's not even an expensive vegetable.
The pasta filled pizza was a first for me. I didn't expect what arrived, but it was pretty good.
The bacon potato soup was good, but all the packets of crackers provided were stale. The dessert were basic pre frozen vendor junk that most resturants sell these days. Would be nice to have some fresh made for once.
Overall the food is worth the price, compared to most places there days. I'd probably go again in person, but not...
Read moreI wanted to love this place. I anticipated a great slice of pizza, but it didn't happen. My brother used to eat here years ago when he worked in the area and, he suggested we have "lupper" there. We got there around 2pm, and there was a wide variety of pizza slices, and pies on display. Had they been there since lunch?? Maybe if we had gone closer to lunchtime they would have been more fresh. We ordered several orders of pierogies, (tasty), an order of garlic knots, (absolutely delicious), I had a slice of the cheesesteak pizza, and my brothers ordered a slice of meat lover's pizza, while the other ordered a cheesesteak sub. My slice was delivered to the table barely lukewarm. I took it back to the counter to be reheated. I should have just eaten it cold. The slice was possibly too thick to have the toppings be heated to a desired "pizza temperature" without sacrificing the integrity of the dough. When the slice was delivered again the crust was nearly too hard to cut, and the toppings withered through reheating rendering the taste of the slice nothing like a cheesesteak. The cheeseburger sub roll was over toasted, making it difficult to eat without losing the contents while trying to fold it into one's mouth. The hamburger was "hiding" in the bottom of the roll which meant most bites were predominantly lettuce. The meat lover's slice was adequate. Aesthetically speaking, the atmosphere was about average for a strip mall pizza place, and was clean. Parking was ample, and the shop is conveniently located. The staff was friendly. Maybe this was an off day or a bad time of the day to grab a slice. In either case, even though the pierogies and garlic knots were really good, in the end it's the pizza that matters and it wasn't close to the "masterpiece" that is the shop's tagline. I don't believe we...
Read moreI will start by saying that this place is ok if you are looking not to cook for the night and have no idea what Italian food should taste like.
I was disappointed by the food I received. I have a culinary degree and I am Italian. The food I received was not properly made. I got the Shrimp Alla Nonna which was, according to the site, Shrimp, Crab meat, and scallops in a Marsala wine sauce with roasted peppers, sundried tomatoes and mushrooms. I also ordered bruschetta and Italian Wedding Soup.
Let's start with the soup. I love Italian wedding soup and when I see it on the menu I have to order it and try it. I got my soup and I was excited to try it, but when I opened the cup I instantly recognized it as progresso's canned wedding soup just heated up.
Next I tried the bruschetta which isnt hard to make but this bruschetta was lacking in the flavor we all know for bruschetta . It was bland, no garlic flavor, and the bread was barely toasted.
On to the main course which was the most disappointing part of the meal. The pasta was just under Al Dente and felt odd in the mouth. It was clearly box pasta. The shrimp and the scallops were cooked well but had no flavor. The sauce was the biggest laugh. Marsala is a sweet wine. When Marsala sauce is made properly it is thick with a nice buttery finish. This was none of those. It tasted like fishy water. The dish was not at all what it should be. Not only was it lacking flavor it also didnt have crab meat or mushrooms which the menu said it did.
This place shouldn't be considered an Italian restaurant. It is so far from Italian that it should be considered bland American food. The menu has way too many options and should be dwindled down to a few options that can be made well and with pride instead of a lot...
