Went there today with my friend for lunch. I've previously been to Honey Grow in downtown Philadelphia and liked it so I thought I would give it a try. My friend ordered a bowl that was about $13 and I ordered a bowl with double tofu and one extra topping and it came to $18. Neither of us got drinks. $18 seems a little expensive to me for a lunch but I'm okay with it if the food is really super awesome. In this case however I think the food was decidedly just okay. Not terrible, but not particularly remarkable in quality or quantity either. Also was surprised to see the kiosk asked how much tip I would like to leave (i.e. 15%, 20%, etc) when we ordered it ourself, stood and waited and picked it up ourself and carried it to our own table and then cleaned up the dishes and trays after we were done eating it! What service are we tipping for exactly? I did add a good tip because that's the way I roll but I think it's getting to be a little much when there's absolutely nothing done for you yet you are still guilted into tipping. My friend was missing three toppings on her bowl and they forgot to give me my bread (but gave it to me once I pointed it out). Again nothing horrible but still not what would be expected for the price. Doesn't look like this will be on my destination list of places to go out of my way to go to but since I'm a vegetarian I may stop in a pinch if...
Read moreWe tried the new location for dinner last night. It was clear they were very busy but that was expected as everyone wanted to give them a try. You order through kiosks which I thought was efficient. We waited 35 minutes for our food but given how packed the restaurant was, I expected to wait longer. It was clear other people were getting upset with the wait but again, they were packed and the staff was clearly moving and doing their best. There seemed to be two managers in the place: one that was making sure the orders were right and the other calling out names for the food. You don't normally see good management and it was nice to see. The food was good! Nice change up from the typical places we have in the area. I eat Honeygrow in the city and felt it tasted consistent. Overall, we had a good experience. My only criticism was there is no condiment section with salt, pepper, etc. This might be something worth adding so people don't have to interrupt the staff for these items. Again, I did have to wait a good amount of time but it was expected giving the traffic in the restaurant. If you don't want to wait long and you know you will get irritated, order online, come earlier in the day, or wait a few months when the hype of the grand...
Read moreMy husband and I order HoneyGrow at least once or twice a week. The one in Center City is DELICIOUS and we were excited over the summer when we saw they opened a new location in Willow Grove. However, this Willow Grove location is HORRIBLE. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes amazing however, the wait time is unacceptable. We've waited 1hr+ multiple times for our food. We've placed orders on the app at least 30 min prior (and still had to wait another hour in the restaurant for curbside pick up). I even tried doing a delivery once (to avoid the wait time). But that experience was even worse. They use a third party company (Door Dash) and the Door Dash driver forgot my Sesame Garlic sauce so I had to leave my house at 9pm at night just to drive over to Honey Grow to pick up my sauce (even after paying $6 for a delivery fee - I still ended up driving over there). I asked the employee to have the manager please call me back the next business day and even to this day - I never received a phone call about my experience. Several times, I've received the incorrect sauce on my stir-fry which is why I now order my sauce on the side....but then they forget to give me the sauce.....ugh its just so bad. Not worth the...
