Stopped by Masons today and overall, it was a really positive experience:
Food - I purchased a cup of the lobster bisque and the Connecticut roll. The bisque was a too watery for my liking and did not have anything other than the tiniest of crumbles of lobster in it. Very good flavor, but I would not purchase it again. Oyster crackers were nice though! The Connecticut Roll was what I came for an it did not disappoint. I used to drive to Kutztown when Cousins Lobster roll trailer is in the area and will never make that drive again. Mason's is where it's at. Twice the amount of lobster and the bun has some real density to it. My only complaint is that it could use some additional butter.
Service - I'm being picky here as my teen years were spent working the register at various restaurants, but the girl at the counter needs a little extra umph. She was quiet and didn't ask any questions. Kids these days. That being said, I got my food to go and she brought to my table and said have a good day. A smile and good attitude can easily make this a five star.
Atmosphere - fantastic. I like the white, clean vibe with the wooden accents and lobsters popping on the walls. There is limited seating, but people were eating indoors, and it wasn't too noisy.
All in all, I will be back and will bring my...
Read moreMason’s Famous Lobster Roll? Oh yeah, it’s famous alright. If this roll isn’t on the front page of TIME Magazine by next year, I’m starting a petition.
The lobster tasted so fresh I legit checked the back of the restaurant for a secret ocean portal. I half expected to see a bunch of dudes from Deadliest Catch hauling traps right into the kitchen while a chef yells, “WE NEED MORE BUTTER!”
And speaking of butter… that roll? Oh. My. Crustacean. The bread was toasted like it just came back from a luxury vacation—golden, soft, buttery on the inside, with just enough crisp on the outside to make my jaw go “thank you.”
Yeah, it’s pricey. But lobster ain’t exactly swimming around asking to be put in a $5 value meal. You’re paying for pure luxury in handheld form. Honestly, it’s worth it. If you’re on a budget, maybe skip gas for a week and walk everywhere—because one bite of this roll and you’ll feel richer than a seafood tycoon.
Bottom line: Mason’s isn’t just famous, it’s borderline legendary. I left full, happy, and slightly suspicious that Poseidon himself might be...
Read moreThis place was delicious!!! We stopped at the location in Rehoboth beach. The staff were super kind and friendly. They served us very quickly. The place was also very clean and in a great location in relation to the boardwalk. Each of us got a different kind of lobster roll (I believe there’s 4 total, we got 3 of the 4). They are not skimpy about the amount of lobster in the roll - it was truly perfect for each bite. You can also get more lobster meat on the roll if you prefer more! The lobster is flavorful too and they have different toppings that you can get with the lobster. The toast was so good; it’s fluffy and light but compliments the lobster without taking away from it. They also had other options like soup and lobster mac and cheese - so if you’re not feeling a lobster roll but still want that seafood option, they have something for everyone! Will definitely becoming back again to try the lobster mac and...
