My hubby and I, went to "Fryin Pan" restaurant in Yanton, SD almost a month ago. We were on vacation to see my husband's family and friends. My 1st time at this restaurant and he has been here numerous times. I didn't care for the restaurant's name; I wanted to go somewhere else, but my husband insisted eat here. We went inside and I was surprised to see how busy the restaurant was. I saw a clean, tons of people sitting at tables, servers that was extremely busy and the staff was very friendly. I was thinking we were going to have to wait in line awhile before being seated. I was never so wrong. The greeter seated us quickly. Gave us the menu, so many options to choose from the menu. We were waited on very quickly. The server took our order and before we knew it the food was placed on our table. The food was absolutely delicious. It's been a long long time that we had food that was this good. The only complaint I have was the spaghetti was cold. I asked the server if I could have it warmed. She came back with it again. It was still a little bit cold. I was not going to send it back again. The french fries were excellent along with other food items. Love the soup and salad bar and the selection. The lemon pie was the best of all. It had a tartness to it, which I loved. Thank you again for the wonderful service, food and the prices were reasonable. I wouldn't...
Read moreOh, man! If I could give this place negative stars, I would. The food is always so good! Late night dessert/fried food dates are my thing here, but tonight I received some of the worst service I have ever seen out of any restaurant. So first, my guest and I are seated at a booth by a friendly face. Greg was super kind and greeted us before we even walked in with a friendly wave. After we were sat, we start flipping through the menus with a pretty good idea of what we want. It takes our server twenty minutes and us asking Greg twice before we hear our server snaps "I'm coming!" Okay, maybe shes a little busy tonight, no big deal. We place our orders, I ask for an oreo shake. It takes fifteen minutes for it to get to me, and when it does, its completely melted to the point that the oreos are settling separately from the ice cream and the milk. So I ask Nyssa (our server) if she wouldn't mind redoing it. Her response verbatim was "No. That's how supposed to be. I won't remake it." So I put on my best smile and sincerely thank her for her service, because to a point, I get it. Then Greg comes back to check in and I tell him what happens. He askd her to remake it, she refuses. He was so great about remaking my shake for me! He truly saved the visit! As for Nyssa, I'll be happy to never see her again because without a doubt, I will request anyone but her on...
Read moreMy family frequents Fryin Pan often and have generally had pretty good experiences…until Wednesday. We went in around 2:30pm for a late lunch. The restaurant had a couple people eating but it was not busy whatsoever. The young lady at the door greeted us and took us to a booth. She asked what we wanted to drink and then walked away. A few minutes later, another young lady comes up to our table with our drinks. I had coffee. My husband had water and our son had tea. No coffee creamer or sugar packets were given for my coffee. I figured I’d ask the waitress when she came to take our order. Shortly after receiving drinks, another couple is sat right by us. A different waitress goes to their table, gets their drinks and their order and brings them their food and we still have not had our waitress come to our table. We waited near 20 minutes before deciding to leave and go elsewhere. We left a few dollars on the table for our drinks and left very disappointed. I am the manager/bartender for another local restaurant and I have to say that the way we were neglected was completely unprofessional and cost this place very good tipping, regular...
