Taco Bell / KFC — Restaurant in Utica South Township

This is a Taco Bell/KFC combo restaurant... Which at the moment is purely drive thru due to the life changing hell that is 2020! Before the life altering chaos of 2020, my family enjoyed going inside, grabbing the one round table that fits 6 and laughing for a couple of hours. Now it's just a drive thru. However, the staff goes out of their way to be kind, and understanding. Today through the drive thru window, for the first time I saw that they have a quote from Dave. It says, "Treat each guest like a friend in your home." I realized that's why I have always enjoyed talking to the employees who work here. Thank goodness they didn't hire any of my kids. They're polite at work but at home... it's constant teasing each other... I mean, could you imagine that? "You want the burrito suppppplllleen? What are you a baby?" However, I digress, as far as the food goes, KFC's and taco bells are...

I should have known.

I woke up happy yesterday. We packed our things into the car and headed out for our roadtrip south. As we drive through Yankton, a certain building catches our eye. Behold; a KFC/Taco Bell. One of the last of its kind. It was beautiful. Nostalgic, even. At that moment, excitement washed over our naive expressions.

From the moment I walked into those worn-torn bathrooms covered in the struggle of many before me, I immediately should have understood that this food was not just sustenance. It was a sacrifice. A risk. And yesterday I took that risk.

Today, in some random Love’s off an interstate maybe 30min-1hr south of Oklahoma City, I writhe currently in the second to last stall on the left of the Women’s bathroom. The risk has taken full effect. My stomach yearns to be free of this curse, my bowels a tangled array of agony.

I ordered a 16 piece family meal with a famous bowl meal and 4 extra biscuits. $69!!! I never got a receipt to look and see if I was over charged. I had a coupon for the 16 piece, it was for $36.99 so when I gave them that it brought my total to $59 which is still high. So it was $20 for a famous bowl meal and 4 biscuits 🤔 ya I don't ever see me going to this kfc. They didn't even give me my drink, had to ask for it.
