This restaurant has been open for more than 40 years and both the food and premises reflect that, but not in a good way. The exterior is not welcoming, the interior is extremely dated, and the food is unappetizing. It seems that the cheapest, low quality food stuffs are used and that is reflected in the appearance, taste, and edibility. The beef is overly processed with either baking soda or cornstarch to tenderize a poor cut, making it mushy and it is full of gristle. The noodles in the vegetable chow mein were oily and overpowered the scant amount of vegetables given, even though I ordered extra veggies. Lol, there wasn't a single piece of broccoli, rather just bamboo shoots, water chestnuts, and zucchini of all things! The potstickers 🥟 were doughy and undercooked. To make matters worse, my elderly mother developed a bad case of diarrhea not long after consuming not even 1/3 her food. Everything went in the garbage. All told, this was a waste of $40. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good...
Read moreAfter living in this city for several years, I finally took my wife and kids here on a Sunday around 1 pm. We were almost immediately seated and the staff was assertive about getting our food ordered. I had the sweet and sour fish and chow mein and my wife had a spicy chicken dish and the food was hot and generally tasty with good portion sizes for the money. Now with their chow mein, it has almost no flavor so that forces you to eat it with the other flavored food. The staff checked on us several times and delivered the bill before we asked for it which caught me off guard, but that was part of the speedy service we got overall. Fast and accurate service is not a bad thing.
I ate at the now-bankrupt Rice and Noodles place in the past and Wah Shine is WAY better. If you want good, adequately-priced Chinese food in Vacaville that isn't part of a chain, you can do worse than Wah Shine. I want to try their MuShu...

We ordered off the Lunch menu, which provided a variety of choices. Each entree comes with a Soup, Salad, choice of Steamed or Fried rice, and/or any combination of a puff/egg roll. The food was good, and wasn't over seasoned. We all got some kind of meat in our entree ... but the meat was a little tough, and/or chewy. The staff was pleasant, courteous, and attentive throughout our visit. Nice place, staff was good as noted, service was brisk, pricing for dishes were average, and food was good but not great. I would recommend for Lunch as the food was good, you can get in and out quickly, and they have a decent selection of dishes. I rated the business 4 stars because everyone's meat in the entree's was a...
