Buyer beware. One of, if not the worst, dining experiences, I have had with a restaurant in Valdosta. It was at one point a wonderful inclusion to the community with great service, and food given at quality health standards. No longer is that the case. Heed this warning, especially for college students, or families who are tight on money. I write this review after consorting with acquaintances, and friends, even family who have dared to try ordering pick up, or dining inside. My most recent, worst, and last experience I will have here, ended up with not receiving an order of Raita( a yogurt condiment) , 2 orders of Naan missing out of 7 that I had placed, an entire entrée, a Hawaiian Chicken dish, was missing as well, and each was charged for without any of those missing items being offered as a fix to them missing in the first place. After having to stand around and wait for 15 minutes I was told to leave with half of the order missing entirely. It’s only icing on the cake that I had offered 20% gratuity, amounting to about $19 as a means to incentivize some kind of reparation for the nonexistent orders. Bringing this up with the cashier devolved into an awkward ramble that ended with the owner coming out, emptying the trash, telling the cashier to deal with it, and then the cashier shrugging their shoulders and announcing nothing can be done. No food, and no refund. The best part with this order, that made me lose all hope, and plan to visit the doctor, is that in one of the complimentary rice containers, there was pieces and bits of roach head and antennae glued to some of the pieces of rice at the bottom of the container, with little larvae meandering around. Absolutely foul. Never again. The service and the hospitality is nonexistent in this place. On multiple occasions I have met with an overtly rude, middle school- aged cashier who refuses to verify that any order is correct and refuses to give the receipt unless repeatedly requested for— to which it is begrudgingly hoisted from the trash and onto the counter, smothered with sauce that is going on sour from mingling in the bin for far too long with the other trash. If difficulties arise with an incorrect order of one item or more, you will be met with what at first appears to be a charming owner whose face will change from stoic to furious as he berates you under his breath with cursing and indignations. Were that not bad enough, the orders seem a half chance of being correct— and if you’re missing something that was on your order, on the receipt? Tough luck — you are at fault. You will front the cost. You will front the blame. Have any allergies to garlic or chili’s? Maybe a certain meat like lamb or something, or you are a vegetarian, ordering with those who eat meat? I pray you do not order any of their flavored flatbreads, or other dry food stuffs as they( each order) are all stacked atop one another tightly in the same container in order to “save money” according to the staff. Not only this, but the health inspector rating has dropped astronomically from 96 to 81. Not the worst health score, but definitely a sign of poor management and negligent health standards, by far. Quite disgusting if you look up health code standards and what scores generally mean. There is better Indian cuisine for a bit cheaper, with higher quality ingredients, and impeccable service, in Valdosta especially. This is simply not worth your money unless you are fine with ordering food that you will not receive, for more pay than it is worth, and service where you are expected to grab what food you do manage to get, and promptly leave immediately.

Very poor / no customer service. We were traveling (with two young kids) from Orlando to Chattanooga and were near Valdosta at about 8.30 pm. We called in to see if they could accommodate us . First we were told that it’s okay if we could make it by 8.45 ( official closing time 9 pm). Then it changed to, you can only take out, even if the official time of this place is 9pm. When we reached there to pickup the food, a young lady at the counter was still trying to argue that we couldn’t accommodate us as we came in at 8.45. On top, the food quality was below average. The minced lamb and okra was too oily. The okra fry had pieces of top portion of okra, which usually is discarded. My first and last visit here unfortunately….

Very good food and service! No frills restaurant but great music selection. The menu has a lot of options and is set up nicely. Great variety of fresh breads. We ordered samosa chaat, methi chicken malai, chicken korma, dal makhani, garlic naan, and Kashmiri naan. Everything was very tasty- especially the dal makhani. That’s coming from a party of four Bengalis and one American. We were traveling from Jacksonville to Atlanta and decided to stop here despite the harsh reviews. Our servers were very polite and responsive. We also didn’t see any 18% service charge as mentioned in other reviews. Overall great experience 👍

Overall rating - 1 (Customer Service in combination with the taste of food provided this rating, negative service really brought it down)

Spicy Chicken Curry - 0 no curry flavor, heavy on spice, miniscule serving with that type of status for the food what you are paying for is service and the service was horrible.

Samosas - Have to admit they were good. Safe choice and the green sauce was great, but again the service took that experience way down and I can go buy an air fryer equivalent without the bad attitude and be good to go.

Service-Horrible. I was going for a birthday delight. Many restaurants do have birthday perks, so I asked. The young Indian girl turned her nose up and snarled at me. (I wasn't going to mention, but noticed that the young man had a birthday coming up so thought it was appropriate to ask and make note of in the future).

Checkout- I asked for the bill and they advised me to just come to the register to pay. I advised that I would like the bill at the table which is customary when dining in as it would give me a chance to review it and also to prepare my funds as was paying in cash. It should not have been an issue but they made it one. I asked for a carryout bag and plastic utensils for the leftovers. I got a styrofoam container (plate) where the liquid would drip everywhere. I politely asked for a seal proof container for the liquid as a well as a bag for easy carry and utensils.

Service was horrible, food was lackluster.

They finally brought me the check. I was going to order a sampler platter to go but my spirit was so diminished I decided to just keep my monies and head across the street to El Prado for a night cap and goodies to take home.

Went for an after birthday dinner. I love curry in general and Indian Food. I spent $35.00 on 2 scoops of rice and spicy curry. It came with the equivalent of one chicken tender cut in half and a cup of curry with 2 scoops of rice and naan. There was no curry flavor. It was extremely spicy which was to be expected. I also had an order of samosas the samosas are always a safe choice.

Great Indian Choices that I have experienced in the past: Mall of Miami, Downtown Miami, great Indian Buffet (it's been a while, so not sure that it is still there).

Birthday Experience Alternatives:...

Disappointing experience — Rude staff and unnecessary service charge for a buffet

We visited this restaurant hoping for a relaxing meal and some good Indian food, but unfortunately, the overall experience was extremely disappointing.

Right from the start, the staff were incredibly unhelpful and dismissive. We tried to ask a few basic questions about the buffet options and ingredients, but were either ignored or given cold, one-word responses as if we were bothering them. Hospitality and basic courtesy were seriously lacking. What made it worse was the automatic addition of a service charge for a buffet. Keep in mind, this was a self-serve buffet — no one brought food to the table, checked in, or offered assistance at any point. Yet, we were charged a service fee without any explanation or visible signage about it beforehand. When we inquired about it, we were met with more rudeness and no clear answer.

Food was average at best — definitely not enough to make up for the unpleasant atmosphere.

There are so many Indian restaurants that not only serve better food, but treat their customers with the respect they deserve. Sadly, this place has lost our trust and we won’t be returning. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this level of customer neglect needed to be called out. To make things worse, the toilets were unhygienic and poorly maintained. For any restaurant, especially one serving buffet food, cleanliness is non-negotiable. A dirty restroom says a lot about the...
