Ike's Love & Sandwiches — Restaurant in Vallejo

First visit to Ike's was good. The sandwiches were ok, but customer service THAT 1st time was great that we decided to come back again the next week. 2nd visit will unfortunately be the LAST. I don't know what was going on with the staff that evening of October 11th, but the welcoming experience and good customer skills we got the previous week were just not there this last time. Lady at counter never greeted us, we stood at counter for several mins before she even came to counter, stared at us and said nothing until we said hi. She was repeatedly distracted, socializing w co-worker in food prep area, and it seemed WE the customers were interrupting their good time. As we tried to start telling her our order, she would continue talking to coworker in back, All the while we were in mid-sentence trying to continue telling her our order, cutting uss off when she continued talking w coworker in the back. Frankly it was just strange, odd behavior. This time our sandwich order was missing items and bread was never toasted as requested as well, so that also sealed it for both of us. It's unfortunate because although the product was overall ok, the experience was NOT this time, and that's part of good business too. Consistency is key, but it just wasn't there on our 2nd visit. This is my first time coming here. My daughter said someone she knows got a sandwich from them and it was super delicious and she wants to try.

So today I went in, super friendly people, the BEST customer service I've seen in the Vallejo area.

The gentleman at the counter was super friendly, helpful, and since this was my first time ever in a Ikes sandwich he threw in a free drink and chips, this was such a special touch and a great reward for first time customer.

I ordered a 465 (Tuna) with Pepper Jack Cheese and a Side Order Mozzarella Sticks. I witnessed the lady taking the Mozzarella Cheesesticks out and placing them on wallpaper and then placing them in a bag. She made my sandwich. I thought she placed my sandwich in the same bag. It wasn't until I got to my sister's house that I discovered my order of Mozzarella sticks wasn't in the bag. I tried to contact the 2-person staff several times on the phone, but no one picked up. After the 5th time. The same lady picked up that made my sandwich. *Keep this in mind: If you lie, you will steal. One truth and two lies. She tells me I'm the one that made your sandwich. (Truth). I placed 2 mozzarella cheesesticks on your sandwich (1 lie). No, you didn't. There was Pepper Jack cheese on my sandwich. I didn't charge you for the Mozzarella Cheesesticks.
