Nothing is more heart-warming than a few pieces of some fried chicken. Or maybe that's heartburn. Could be. I always put a gangload of hot sauce on these suckers. Hmm... nah, it must be heart-warming. Yeah, that sounds about right.
There's nothing that needs to be said in the specularity of Popeye's chicken. It's some straight up good commercialized fried chicken. I personally prefer Popeye's over KFC. KFC used to taste good... like, back when I was a kid. But when I eat it now, it's a very minimal thrill. Popeye's one-ups KFC in the flavor department, big time. Especially with it's "spicy" variety (which isn't really spicy at all, but more flavor than regular.) They have some pretty good sides too. Their mac n cheese, seasoned fries, and mac n cheese are pretty good. Biscuits here are nothing to talk about really. They're a bit bigger than your usual biscuit, but it tastes just about the same as what's out there. Oh yeah, their tuesday special, that can't be beat.
All in all, Popeye's is a guilty little pleasure that anyone can enjoy. They're all over the place, pretty much. It's not mind-blowing eats, but when you need a quick fix for some pretty good fried chicken, it definitely gets...
Read moreAsk for orders of Chicken Nuggets ONLY and Chicken Tenders ONLY and after a long debate, I get 2 HUGE boxes FULL of stuff (I've never eaten here before but my son has). When I questioned the girl at the drivethru she tells me they put my side of mashed potatoes in the box. I get back on the highway and drive, open the box to eat, only to find the chicken COMPLETELY undercooked and biscuits and gravy in the box. My 11 year old son says they always come with the biscuits and gravy (we stopped for him really) but for the life of me I can't figure out WHY THE GIRL WHO WORKED THE DRIVETHRU DIDN'T KNOW THAT?! And why didn't they just honor my request and REMOVE the stuff I didn't want? I realize I wasn't at Burger King and I guess I can't have it my way, but what happened to good ole fashioned Customer Service? It's not happening at this location...visited on March 12th...
Read moreImagine walking into a fried chicken restaurant where the service and quality fall woefully short. You order the smallest portion available, expecting a modest serving, but what you receive is barely more than a few crumbs. The price for this minuscule meal? An astonishing $12, a sum that seems outrageously high for the portion size.
The staff, seemingly disinterested and inattentive, not only fail to listen to your order but also get it wrong, serving you something completely different. To add insult to injury, when the bill arrives, you find they've charged you twice the amount originally quoted.
Overall, this restaurant is a dismal experience: overpriced, with subpar portions, poor customer service, and billing errors that make the whole ordeal even more...
