Henze's Bakery — Restaurant in Valparaiso

My mother passed three years ago, and something she always made me was French Silk Pie. The anniversary of her death passed recently, and I had just really missed my mom. I searched every time we went to a store for this pie. My fiancé would notice my disappointment walking away from the bakery sections when I didn’t find the pie…so after calling NINE bakeries—who either didn’t make pies or would make a French Silk one—found Henze Bakery. He was able to speak to the baker himself in order to confirm he could in fact make the pie and would do so even though it had been awhile since he had made one. Coming off of a long EMS shift, to find my fiancé (and his coworker) searched for days to find a bakery that would make this special pie for me…had me quite literally bawling. I like to try local donut shops for fun. This shop has pretty good reviews so I thought it will be worth to try.

I was happy cause there were so many different choices. But no price tags on each items. Anyway I choose a few. I was just excited to try them. And I paid $16 something.

I opened the bag when I got home. There were only 5 items. Actually I thought I got more than 5. Are these really worth $16??

So I email Henze’s bakery. It was last Thursday to ask how much for each items. No response. Guess they don’t care about it.

If they would let me know at least the price. I wouldn’t post here. And it was my fault that I didn’t check the price and got the receipt.

I paid less than $30 at Parlor Doughnuts for dozen. Still a mystery are these worth $16? I don’t think so. Sorry Not that great. I wouldn’t go back...

Not welcoming for the public, no inside tables, a place to enjoy a donut and coffee or a trash can inside. Henze's bakery prepares great donuts etc. With real ingredients, unlike Dunkin donuts which uses imitation ingredients thus making their donuts taste like plastic or cardboard. I don't know about the seating arrangements inside Dunkin donuts because I don't go there. Rise & Roll bakery no longer requires the public to wear masks to enter their establishment, they have tables to enjoy your donut and coffee, they use quality ingredients to make their donuts etc. There are many establishments that don't require masks any longer.
