I was tasked with bringing joy and satisfaction to my fellow crew members with some prestigious rise n roll donuts this thursday morning. I arrive at the valpo location and wait till 7am for them to open. As i wait and salivate thinking of the delicious donuts and pastries that my crew and i will soon get to enjoy i read the reviews one after another all bursting with satisfaction. The numbers 7:00am display on the clock of my big dumb truck's dash and i approach the store front with excitement. I grasp the door handle and to my surprise the door is locked, i look and the store is dimmly lit but no one is in sight. Im overwhelmed with confusion and disappointment because there displayed on the door was the hours sign and it read open Mon-Sat 7am-5pm. What happened Rise n Roll? Where are your donuts? Where are your employees? Why arent you answering the phone? Did you sleep in? Didnt you forget what day it is? Did your buggy break down? Did your employees go on rumspringer? All i know is that im very...
Read moreThe flavor is the only thing that's the same about these donuts, they shrunk to about ⅓ the size they originally were, way less filling and they are no longer as fresh. It's a shame because their donuts used to be the best. Edit - we did have our second donuts this morning, they were still fresh the day after. In the peanut butter filled, the filling in these was a more appropriate ratio, so maybe the filling in the cinnamon caramel Bavarian filled was a fluke. However we have been been buying Rise n Roll donuts since they were in the white barn at the farm and they are significantly smaller, not this locations fault, it's the bakery's. I would gladly pay a little bit more for the donuts to be the original size. I appreciate the franchise owners offer to make things right, my suggestion is all that's needed is to pass this feedback on...
Read moreTheir doughnuts are amazing. My favorite doughnut is the apple pie filled and we love to get the doughnut holes. They are always my go to doughnuts for when ppl come visit from out of town, everyone loves them as are unlike anything they’ve ever had. Before the opened in NWI, they used to set up in Ogilvie In Chicago every Thursday in Chicago and they would sell out.. my husband used to get me the doughnut holes here. Soooo happy they are now within distance. Tip.. the doughnut holes are sometimes frozen and are not as good as their fresh doughnut holes, they are more dried out. Also, their cinnamon rolls are best at the mishiwaka location as that is where they are made and are the freshest, the couple times I’ve had them at the Valpo location they are dried out....
