I've been patronizing Leo's since it opened many years ago. I have thought long and hard about writing this since most of the time the service and food has been at least acceptable. However, the last 3 or 4 times I've been here the service, accuracy of the order, and quality of food has been steadily and noticeably declining. The last straw was when we placed a telephone breakfast order. Although the woman on the phone repeated back the orders, with the modifications ( i.e., farmers omelet with hash browns on the outside), every single order was prepared incorrectly. I packed the food back up, went back into the restaurant, explained the errors, only to be told they were sorry. The cashier and I stared at each other for a very awkward 20 seconds. I then asked that the food be remade correctly as the orders contained breakfast meats (ham, bacon, and sausages) that, by this time had been sitting at room temp for over 45 minutes. She called "Sam", one of the owners and was told they couldn't be remade. I suggested a refund, they could keep the food, and I would go over to George's on Michigan Ave. She stated they couldn't refund the order. Eventually, Sam came in and I explained the situation. Sam literally snatched the orders out of my arms, started yelling at me, and had the cooks remake the orders. I was terrified and shaking, too scared to even leave. His behavior was so abhorrent that I was deciding how long it would take for me tomake it to my car and if I could outrun him? It was the absolute worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant in my 60 years!! I saw him head for the back, no longer a threat, and the cashier apologized profusely for his behavior. She said things were really tough for the business right now. Well, things were tough for all of us and this behavior was inexcusable! I would never have asked for the food to be remade if this hadn't been happening over and over recently at this restaurant. We'll never to back and will patronize other restaurants in the future. Also, based on the interactions we've had with Sam in the past, I'm convinced that if my husband had gone up there returning the order and requesting the correct food be given to us, there would have been no issues. I was not rude during the encounter, but I also was unwilling to AGAIN pay for orders that were ALL incorrectly made. If you know...
Read moreI will no longer return here after what just happened to me today at this location. Save yourself the trouble and dont stop here. I ordered the simplest bacon and fried egg sandwich with emphasis on bacon being cooked well. April the manager took my carry out order. I checked order and had to give it back. Bacon looked undercooked, dry, bread barely toasted and sandwich was just thrown together rather sloppy. A nice young guy offered to have it remade. I consented. Well I knew it was not going to be any different when it was given back to me in less than 5 minutes. It was the same sandwich with undercooked bacon with just Mayo added. I politely asked for a refund and was offered another remake. I declined a third redo and April told me she couldn’t give me a refund “company policy” and person above her would have to decide. I asked to speak to someone higher up than herself. She told me that she wasnt calling him. I asked another staff if they could call him. They started to call and to my surprise she stopped him and said she is the supervisor and asked me to move over. I stepped to side still waiting and April comes to say that she called the police because I hadnt left. 3 officers walk in door and now she comes with her supervisor on the phone. Im assuming to cover up poor behavior as they were walking in because prior to she flat out told me that she wasn’t calling her supervisor. He tried to get me to remake . I insisted that I don’t want to patronize after horrible treatment and with 3 police officers being called on me for nothing. He finally decided to refund me. Officers were really nice and understanding. Id never return here. I hate to say but April must’ve thought because Im African American calling the police would be in her favor. Not. She wasted the officers time and showed just how hateful she is. Major let down by this establishment. I will be letting all know not to eat here and how poorly they treat you after they...
Read moreMy elderly neighbor, my three year old son and I all went out for my birthday dinner, apple bees was packed so we decided to go to Leo’s it was approximately 8:00pm when we arrived the waiter Brandon took us to our table. We had gotten our drinks and I asked him for crackers for my son while we waited and he said “sure” and proceeded to just sit in the corner on his phone along with 4 other employees. Our food came out, but when it did we were extremely disappointed. My neighbor had ordered a Caesar salad on the menu at says that it comes with croutons Parmesan cheese, and said “with chicken” in bold letters. It does not say add chicken with pricing next to it, so when we got the salad it was a bowl full of lettuce. No croutons and no chicken, there may have been two shakes of Parmesan cheese on top of the lettuce. I tried getting the waiters attention and he was too busy socializing with the other employees and on his phone to see or hear me so I walked up to them explaining there was nothing on the salad. He went and grabbed the menu telling me we needed to ask for the chicken added to the salad and I said “well it says with chicken?”. He told me he’d get his manager and she came. I had ordered the veggie stir fry it was swimming in an extremely salty sauce when I looked down I had seen a hair in my food. The “manager” Bailey proceeded to argue with me and put the piece of hair up to my head and say “oh that’s blonde and it your hair”, and I don’t know how this woman was qualified at all to be a manager of ANY restaurants, but that was extremely unprofessional of her. The waiter was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie so it’s definitely reflects on the unprofessionalism and carelessness of their work place. And when we went to leave the staff was all laughing and making snood comments amongst themselves. I hope this comment keeps someone from getting disappointed as badly as I did on...
