Neither myself or my boyfriend have ever tried Applebee's until last night 12/30/21. We both had made up our minds years ago and snubbed it without a shred of evidence. I had thought it to be a "a glorified Denny's" as I said to him and he said he had heard it was "a step below The Olive Garden". It is funny how our mind is made up just by the name of a business, or maybe the exterior of a place, and in most cases, by their marketing campaign. Step up, the greatest marketing tool of all, The Gift Card". We received one from a family member for what would be enough for 2-3 visits but instead we went for the whole shebang - an appetizer, 3 dinners and 2 desserts and spent every penny by leaving the rest to the meal runner as a tip (they help to get your order correct and in a timely manner, so tip them! ) Our runner/waitress came out with our food at the exact time that was promised, 11:45p. She was very friendly and polite and thorough even though we were the last order of the night. I used to work in the restaurant - hospitality industry and believe me, at the end of a long shift, you are mentally sprinting for the door but she still took the time to make sure our order was correct :) The first thing we tried was the Grilled Chicken Wonton Taco appetizers and let me just say this, if I didn't like anything else on the menu, I would still go there any day, any time. THEY WERE THE BOMB!!! A perfect blend of tastes that melted in your mouth. They were incredible and I would have given this review a 5 had the ribs I ordered not came out looking like old beef jerky. Unfortunately, they were bone dry and tasted like they had been in a warmer all night (maybe not the case but...). My guy had a prime rib sandwich with fries and he was very happy with it. I, also, ordered the Strawberry Salad and ate it today. It was also excellent. And our desserts were to die for! The blond brownie was so good that I intended to just try a little bite before dinner and ended up eating the whole thing. It should be called the No Self Control dessert! This is the thing. I can understand the rib situation as it was the last order of the day. No excuse although somewhat understandable ordering that late at night. What makes me look forward to recommending this restaurant to my family and friends was that I had decided to call management to let them know because believe it or not, if they are any good at managing, they will definitely want to know. I believe her name was Michelle or Melanie (?), an Assistant Manager that I spoke with and after hearing me out and checking into it, she offered to make it right, although I hadn't asked or expected it. She sincerely invited us back and we look forward to the next time. We could not have been farther off the mark for formulating the opinions we both had because after actually experiencing their food, the extensive and delicious menu options, speaking with employees, etc. we think that nothing really can compare to Applebee's. They are in a league of their own :) So, THANKS Applebee's for changing our minds! And thanks, Uncle Don, for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEvery time I come here it takes forever for my food and I would say at least 75% of the time it is wrong. The portions used to be decent but the last couple of times I have gotten food from here they were small and when I order to go it's even smaller. The waiters are wonderful and I feel bad for them because either they are under staffed or the cooks don't care about service at all! One time in particular I took my daughter, boyfriend, and my niece and nephew out for dinner, we were seated quickly and received drinks quickly but did not get our food for 45 min then when our food arrived mine was wrong. I explained to the waitress that we were seated an hour before ever getting food and I had asked for my steak to be medium well so light pink color in the center when my steak arrived it was burnt on the outside I have it a chance and thought maybe the inside would be ok and it was not it was dry and pretty much even over cooked for well done I showed my waitress and she apologized and said she wouldn't have eaten it either... She quickly sent it back but again I sat for another 35 min before the next one was brought to the table at which time we had been there for 2 hours and everyone at my table had already finished eating so I had to take mine to go š I left a nice tip because our waiter was amazing and I explained to her $5 could be split with the other staff because I know they have to divide tips at the end of the day but I gave her an extra $10 that I told her was for her only and no one else. She offered many time to get a manager and I explained to her there was no point because this ALWAYS happens. We have 4 chilled under the age of 10 and from the time we arrived at 6:30pm we did not get to leave until almost 9pm and the kids were at that point annoyed and restless and I had to take my order to go š very sad because we loved coming here! The waitress apologies repeatedly and I explained to her I knew it was not her fault and that this happens every time I come to eat here even ordering to go I end up spending 20 min just to check out every time from food not being ready when they say it will be. Unfortunately after the last to go pick up that was extremely small I will not be returning... I usually spend on average $80+ and the portions and cooks service each time gets worse. Like I said I don't know if it's a staffing problem or what but they defiantly have some areas to focus on at...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEverytime I come to this location I always tell myself Iām done coming back because we always have a terrible experience. The young girl who sat us to our table was the only positive experience we had. The server. Not only does she NOT PAY ATTENTION but she was far from giving us the best experience. We started off with ordering our drinks and appetizer. My bonus daughter, my husband and I ordered cocktails. Out of default I take my ID out. She failed to ask my bonus daughter for her ID and she LOOKS so much younger than me. Someone else came to the table to ID her after our server left. I also ordered waters. Our cocktails and our appetizer came. Didnt get any small plates for the appetizer. I asked for extra napkins when the appetizer came. 15 minutes later I ask for my waters again. Waters came & no extra napkins. Mind you I ordered the Wontons for our appetizer and that can get a little messy. My husband ordered the bourbon chicken and she asked how he liked it?! He was confused because heās never been asked that for chicken. But whatever my husband just ate his dinner. Iām not happy that she got his order wrong and I paid MORE for a meal my husband didnāt ask for. I am also upset that she rarely came to check on our table and that she kept making me ask for my waters and extra napkins. My bonus daughter and I ordered the bowls. My bonus daughter DOES NOT do spicy and I love it. The bowls were so spicy I couldnāt finish my food. She barely touched hers. When I asked for my check she kept apologizing to my husband. I did not care to over hear what she had to say because I had enough. If she didnāt do anything wrong she wouldnāt of had anything to apologize for. One thing to add, I donāt know what or how they cook their food with but I have had the worst tummy pains after eating here. And my husband experienced the same thing. By far the worst experience I have ever had at a Dine In. We will stay clear of this...
