So this may be one of the more difficult reviews I've ever had to write because I am coming out of a place of care, but also a place of worry for those that are around the owner of this business. I thought really hard on if I were going to write this, or what to even write, but I think that the general public, the employees and maybe family/friends can view this as constructive and get the owner the help he may need as well as a "watch out" so you don't experience what we did. As an experienced bartender and a long time resident of Vancouver, I don't believe I have witnessed from someone who, is also in the alcohol industry, such impulsive anger and I've worked with a lot of bar owners here in town and other people in management. November 12th, I was outside with my best friend of 22 years who sadly suffers from memory loss among a ton of other mental health issues and I make sure that he's as OK as he can be since he is also homeless. Now, what we don't need is someone coming to us, VERY angry, screaming profanities about how he was going to "kill us" and dangerously approach us such as he did, as volatile both parties were because who knows what my friend would do and take things the wrong way but what this guy really needs to do is take a step back and re-evaluate what he did that day. Did you choose the right industry in which you work? And the location of where you put your business? Or did you act on impulse with that as well? Do you assume if somebody does you wrong do you take it out on everybody? Or just the people you immediately see? If that is the case everyone needs to stay away from him. His employees most likely have seen this sort of attitude and what I have to tell you is important. RUN. Get away from this ticking time bomb because what I can see is that he's on edge and the fact is he's telling random people including a previous, actually a very previous customer of his, that he'll kill them because nobody in this situation made the right choice. I understand if someone were to break into my business, I'd be angry too. Can you not threaten mine and my best friend's life? As an owner, I'd expect that someone of your status would figure out that is not how you talk to the general public. Maybe run to the bank every night to make the deposit, or reinforce your doors like most of the other business owners in this area had to do. Believe me, you aren't as high and mighty as you may think, your sht does stink, and you are very lucky you didn't threaten some of the other volatile persons located in that area you wisely invested in. Also, it's a felony in WA State to do what you did. Like I said, you're very lucky you fk'd with us. I'm not a cop caller and I don't like seeing pretty boys like you in jail. I know what they do in there.
Good luck on your journey and be better prepared,

Read moreMy husband and I both greatly enjoy quality draft beer/microbrews, and decided to head to Final Draft on a date night. The beer choices were fair, although the majority of options seemed to be IPA, which just isn't our favorite, we have never been part of the IPA fandom which is seemingly so large at the moment. I enjoyed a chocolate porter which was solid, malty, chocolatey and delicious, my husband drank a pilsner which we both also praised, and each was a reasonable price.
We ordered a meat and cheese charcuterie board, and this was by far the best part of our night out. Three delicious and more uncommon samplings of meat, three high quality and tasty cheeses, an abundance of sliced crusty bread, and three condiments for spreading and/or dipping. It complimented our beers perfectly and was worth the $18.
The atmosphere was our least favorite part of Final Draft. While the servers were very helpful, friendly and polite, the room itself, the seating and the overall feeling just wasn't very fun or social. The music was okay but not amazing, and there wasn't a particular mood drawn from the decor.
We enjoyed good beer and a delicious charcuterie board, and while we might come back again, I don't see us being return customers on a very frequent basis. Give Final Draft a try though, the mood might suit your individual taste differently, and your tastebuds...
Read moreGoogle might have a 5-star system, but make no mistake, this place is a perfect 10. Right-priced eats, diverse tap list, and friendly bartenders. Need a suggestion? They're knowledgeable. Bringing a few buddies? Ample seating. Music is awesome; not too loud, not too soft, and the selection is good.
Constant events (fund-raisers for great causes, a ladies' brew group, and a ukelele night, for starters) keep things interesting, while your regulars during the week keep the "friendly neighborhood watering hole" vibe alive and well.
Draft selection is primarily Vancouver, with a few Portland, Bend, and Seattle options sprinkled throughout to keep things interesting. The first few taps are lighter (lagers, hefeweizens, etc), the last two are dedicated nitro handles, with sours, a large selection of various IPAs, and the occasional Belgian.
In short, Final Draft is positioning itself to be a great neighborhood gathering location, rather than "just a bar". They have a lot of fun, while still prioritizing the community, regulars, and popular brew culture in a fledgling (but blooming) Vancouver beer scene. Make the trip, and enjoy it (I know you will).
TL;DR - tasty,...
