04/06/23 Once again, OUTSTANDING SERVICE!!! This time it was Ethan who made our night! He was so accommodating and generally in great spirits that I swear, I would go in there and order a pizza just to be in his presence! I know, this sounds a little overboard but I'm telling you that if you are having a difficult day or this crazy world we live in has got you down, Ethan has such a contagious attitude that you can't help but to be smiling as you walk out the door. The whole closing crew, i.e. the manager and a sweet girl (I am so sorry but I lost the paper that had your names on it. The names that I asked for. But I will try and find out because you deserve recognition, as well) along with Super Star, Ethan, are like a well oiled machine. They work hard and they are all laughing and look like they truly are happy! When this crew is there, none of the toppings are empty but we've been there at closing, time and time again, where they are all empty and the employees have to keep running in the back to bring more out. NOT WITH THIS CREW!!!!! Thank you, Ethan for making my husband and I feel so great! oh and thank you for the fantastic pizza's, too! ha ha!
Before getting into this review, I want to say that our visit to MOD’s Pizza was months ago (we’re dieting) and I still hadn’t forgotten to write this review because they are 5 star great! My husband and I walked in about 10 minutes before closing. We both had worked in the restaurant business at some point in life and pretty much know the etiquette. Not cool but we were starving and planned to make up for it with a generous tip. As soon as we opened the door, we were greeted as if we were the 1st customers of the day! Super upbeat and welcoming. The gentleman who would end up helping us build our pizza was named Andrew. He was smiling and relaxed as if he didn’t have any place he would rather be. My husband, to top off coming in so late, got the bright idea to have 1/2 of his pizza garlic cheese bread and 1/2 pizza. Andrew said he had never made it before but commented what a great idea it was and happily began making our pizza’s. As he started, others had the same idea as we had, streaming in behind us but Andrew did not skip a beat. He greeted them with the same energy that he had exhibited with us and explained he would be with them just as soon as possible. Being that it was at closing time, poor Andrew was having to hop back and forth, looking for cut veggies, etc. that were previously put away and yet he still did not look stressed at all. Their whole team has always been super sweet and welcoming but Andrew went way over and beyond what anyone could ever suggest as good customer service. Even if we were to move out of the area, we will always come back to this MOD’s! THANK YOU ANDREW & Company :). You all deserve a raise!!!! PS I want to add to this already long winded review that everything was FRESH and the place was very clean!!! Tx again! Now I’m...
Read moreMy friend & I decided to meet here because we had an excellent experience at Mod Pizza our 1st time - at a different location in Vancouver. The price was cheap & they piled on the toppings. Not so with this location…and here is why: At the 1st location, we both ordered a cauliflower crust with various toppings which they didn’t hesitate to pile on. It was a small size & was over the top delicious. It was one of the best pizza’s I’ve ever had! 2nd location they didn’t even ask what size either one of us wanted. We both assumed it would be the same (small/single serving) unless we stated otherwise. We each received a medium size. We are old ladies, can’t eat that much, & are on a fixed income. I was just gonna have water, but after returning to the table, my friend offered me a drink of her blackberry drink & told me I just had to try it. She was right, it was delicious, so I went back & ordered one. She ordered a small (I didn’t know), & I received a medium glass (much too much for me). Nope, they didn’t even ask me what size I wanted & it was “my bad” for assuming there was only 1 size. Needless to say, our lunches cost us about $30 each!!! Seriously? WOW!
Needless to say, it left a bad taste in my mouth & I will be super vigilant next time I return. Oh - and I had to keep telling the guy to put MORE cheese on my pizza when ordering. He was definitely stingy with the toppings. And my friend even had to go ask for more after hers was out of the oven.
The pizza was just okay, not like our 1st experience which was the bomb! And I have told NUMEROUS friends about my 1st experience & how they’ve just gotta check it out. I’m not giving up; rather making an addendum to how I order, & how I “recommend” your business...
Read moreTo preface this review, this is the only MOD pizza I've been to.
I have been to this particular MOD a handful of times. More often than not the pizza's flavors are amazing tasting, and delightfully quick.
However, this last visit I don't think I'll be going back to this MOD. They made it abundantly clear they were understaffed. I've worked in wide variety of kitchens over the years, and I understand that those are some of the toughest nights. In the year+ I worked in restaurant that had a drive thru, I have never seen an employee park in the drive thu to block it off due to short staffing. Regardless, I parked and walked up to the door. The lobby was closed, because of staffing. They were only taking online orders, and they said they'd bring it to my car when my pizza was ready. I waited until the time my pizza was supposed to be done. No one came out. I thought, "Oh well, they must be busy." Despite being the one of two cars in the parking lot waiting for pizza. Five minutes later I finally walk over to ask if there was a pizza ready for pickup. I got told again they're short staffed, and they'll bring it over to my car. I had just touched the door handle on my car by the time one employee walked back out with my pizza. It was warm at best. It's a shame this was some...
