The worst and least authentic chow mein I've ever had. I was floored. Vermicelli was okay at best but they added a ton of Iceberg lettuce instead of bean sprouts, its like 1/3rd iceberg lettuce, ruined the flavor of the otherwise good vermicelli. I've never been served a vermicelli dish with so much lettuce in it as filler. The chow mein was a pile of soaking wet veggies in half an inch of liquid with dry, overcooked noodles dumped ontop and soggy, very wet tofu. It's clear they didn't even cook it together or couldn't be bothered. The reviews seemed good but what I got did not reflect their reviews. I paid money to toss an entire meal in the trash and pick a ton of lettuce out of a noodle bowl. There is a lot of strong competition for Thai/Vietnamese in this part of town, and virtually any of them offer far better quality. If this is abnormal, and not typical, maybe the owner/manager can reach out to me because as of writing this, I'm pretty upset at the 24$ I entirely wasted on mediocre food that would be eclipsed in quality by even a frozen Thai dinner from Walmart. I'm not a picky eater, and I rarely complain and rather just chalk it up to random chance, but this was truly the worst meal I've been served in this part of town by any Asian food restaurant.

For some reason I have avoided this place for years , I don’t know, maybe it’s the location, maybe something about the sign… anyway it didn’t seem promising. So, throwing caution to the winds, I decided to give it a shot. Well, my aim must be getting better! It was perfect, hot, well spiced comfort food. The condiment tray had copious amounts of basil, sprouts and of course lime. I sipped cautiously before committing to hoisin or hot sauce and found a gratifying depth of flavors with some deep star anis and a solid base of beef broth. I got the BBQ pork and Shrimp with egg noodle which were all done perfectly and joined together like instruments in a good symphony. Service was prompt and polite, the MI TOM XA XIU hit all the marks and the small bowl was plenty. I gave the soup a good shot of sriracha and hoisin, but I like a little heat and sweetness both in my soup and in my life. It is simply amazing to me how blessed we are in Vancouver to have so many good Vietnamese restaurants to choose from. Saigon Restaurant definitely takes its place among the have to try places.

I have around 30-40 bowls of pho per year and seldom at the same place twice. I am sitting here for the third time. Pictured is a Large bowl of Beef Round Noodle Soup from the menu. Beef comes pink from the kitchen, broth cooks it. The broth is magic. It has more depth than any other pho I have had in the greater Portland area. I would not say it is an oily broth, but it glistens with just enough oil to really coat the palate. Their house-made chili oil is a great addition. The portion size is impressive for a Sub-$15 bowl. I can’t speak to the rest of the menu, except for the shrimp fresh rolls. Also great, with an excellent peanut sauce. Highly recommend you try this if you’re looking for a big bowl of pho, it’s worth the trip.

Tonight was our first experience there. Our order was brisket & top round (possibly also bottom round) pho, 2 thai teas and one over of pork only spring rolls) I asked for NO heat with the pho. They put jalapenos in the bag with the sprouts. What they seem to not understand is that when you place a sliced (with seeds) jalapeno in the bag with sprouts that you toss in wet (little puddle of water at the bottom of the bag) everything become spicy. So my mouth was a little uncomfortable w/ a runny nose. I've never has brisket before like they do, there was just solid cbunks of fat, small, chunks of fat with a little meat attached, so I had to dig through my food (before putting in the broth, which they gave a great amount of) to remove chunks of lard. The drinks were the ones they put in the machine, it seals a plastic sheet on as a lid & you need to puncture it to drink. Well I guess they chose to puncture the drinks, put 2 thai teas in a plastic bag, withholes punctured (wouldn't you leave that for us to do to avoid spillage??) with straws. The drinks were spilling so there was thai tea all over the inside of the bag, the straws were drenched & the cups sticky wet. (Now this is a party 🙄) The spring rolls were the Only thing that came as asked & acceptable. I don't normally give reviews like this & I don't like to; I prefer receiving amazing food & giving good reviews. Honestly the portion sizes were better than acceptable & the staff were very polite. I wish I could give a better review, maybe if they read this they can ans are open to changing...

This is up there among some of the worst food experiences I have ever had. The food was borderline disgusting and had nothing in common with any of the photos posted by people over the years. The chicken stir fry I ordered had more in common with biscuits and gravy then any sort of stir fry. The sauce was 1/2 inch deep comprised of what I could only assume was a corn starch slurry with a slight flavor of pepper, with rubbery firm chicken that would flake in the mouth similar to salmon indicating that it was probably a week old. Not a single bright flavor in the entire dish. I was able to eat it until I was no longer hungry and then pushed the plate away. My girlfriends experience was similar with us throwing away the food in a distant dumpster soon after because throwing away the food at home and having it sit in our trash was nauseating itself. I would not recommend this place in the slightest and regret not bringing up how gross the food was to our server, but their attitude was one of apathy from the start. I imagined their whole day is just being on autopilot trying to not feel the disappointment they experience as they serve food they know is subpar.

This place is among the select few that are unequivocal no goes. 7 years of food in Vancouver and only one other place has been equally gross.

I also felt mildly sick for about 48 hours afterwards. Just an upset stomach...
