Thatcher's Coffee has some work to do if they want to elevate their cafe experience. My initial visit was discouraging, with a menu that left me questioning the value for the prices. However, a potential connection with another customer was disrupted by an overt case of employee harassment, which left a sour taste in my mouth.

Upon returning in hopes of giving them another chance, I encountered subpar coffee, lacking the boldness and flavor that a coffee lover expects. The espresso, when finally obtained, was either over-extracted or tasted acrid due to improper preparation.

Safety inside the cafe and on the patio was also a concern, with accidents involving a young child pushing a small potted plant over on me as I sat inside the cafe and altercations with transients that accost me when I sit outside away from Thatcher’s.

On Halloween, the lack of decorations and festive spirit was disappointing, as was the staleness of their bakery items.

Observing improper handling of hot beverages and milk left on the counter, I attempted to reach out to the owner with genuine interest in improvement, but my emails were ignored. Instead of addressing my concerns, the employees seemed to actively interfere with my experience while on the patio as a customer elsewhere in the plaza, which is far from the friendly patronage one would hope for.

Considering the time and money I intended to invest in Thatcher's Coffee, it's disheartening to be met with such apathy. With improvements in customer service, coffee quality, safety, and responsiveness to feedback, Thatcher's Coffee could become a more inviting and enjoyable establishment.

This place needs a serious wake-up call to deliver the quality and service customers...

The coffee is not good, but the pastries make up for it.

You get what you pay for, you may notice that the lattes here are anywhere from $1-$2 less than let’s say, black rock. Ever wonder why? Well, and this is just a theory, it’s because they expect you to pay extra for the flavor they advertise. I’ve had the Housemade Carmel, Honey Vanilla, and cinnamon-something lattes.

The only discernible difference between the three, is that lovely swig of grit you get from the cinnamon-latte. Otherwise, I swear it’s the same drink. They’re not”bad” necessarily, just misleading. Good on you guys for fooling the rich folks into buying that, genius really.

The vibes that you guys ooze are perfect for the rich, alphabet tribe members that graze here every morning. It’s a great place to really take in how the other tax brackets live, quite the show!

All jokes aside. I do not like specifically the lattes here due to their over-consistency. The pastries are fantastic, spend your money on those before they run out. I personally am not a huge fan of the aesthetic but totally get what y’all are going for, like I said previously, genius, you’re really leaning into the tikytoky generation gimmick and it works. I will say it’s a bit cramped, so much for being all inclusive, having to scoot around the hippies on their laptops is a challenge that I embrace...

There are few things in life I like more than sweet baked goodies and coffee is definitely on that list and Thatcher's coffee has both of those items and some more - so needless to say I loved them . This place is cute and is very conveniently located with a host of other stores and restaurants , so you run your errands and get your coffee at the same time .Its a woman-owned business, and there were more than one pop-ups going on when we visited .The vibe is very cute and they had a giant wall with chalk art on it - really Insta worthy . We got the Lavender cardamom latte and the golden Orange turmeric latte along with the Pumpkin and caramelized apple hand pie and the almond flour muffin . Everything tasted good , the drinks were a little sugary even though I specifically inquired before I ordered if they were going to be too sweet .Lots of seating and very good natural light in case you intend to do some work or reading . It does get loud though so not the best place to work if noise bothers you .There is lots of parking...

Thatcher's is the BEST coffee shop in Vancouver, and I would say it's the best of all the places I've been to in the Portland metro area. They truly possess a quality menu of both drinks and baked goods. I've been a fan ever since my parents took me here as a child, and I've been consistently getting beverages from here during college. The only reason I stopped coming was due to COVID closures, so I was extremely happy to see that they've opened like regular once again this morning! Coming inside here, you get the perfect coffee-loving vibe in the Pacific Northwest, with friendly baristas who seem to enjoy what they're doing. They'll happily answer any questions that you have about the menu and give recommendations. They boast some unique drinks, such as a health-conscious hot chocolate or a lavender cardamom latte. My favorites are the honey vanilla latte and their frappés, particularly with oat milk.

As a small business, you have the compete on a different plane than larger companies with commoditized products. Thatcher's does a VERY good job differentiating themselves with options that, while not 'bargain basement' priced, you won't get at any other coffee shop. They make their own syrups, they bake pastries on-site and their rotating seasonal menu is second to none. Some personal favorites include their drip coffee (rotating flavors, local roasters, very well thought out), the GF almond muffin (I want to make a giant cake out of this recipe) and the cheese & bacon scone. Their staff does a terrific job leaving any unhappiness at the door and bringing their 'A game' to work with them each day. Swing on by and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with strong WiFi to help get work done. You won't be disappointed!

I love the gluten-free muffin, bread and cookie choices.this spot has. They have inventive drinks, like beetroot lattes and frozen, strawberry matchas. I have, unfortunately, never had a good coffee latte here. It's always bitter, and the milk is heated too long or too hot and tastes scalded. That said, I love their creative gifts, such as wildflower bouquets and locally crafted cards. They had a local shop, kinfolk, set up a drop-in pottery painting canopy on their courtyard. The other half says their chai is good...perfectly sweet and peppery. They share a parking lot with FM, so there is always plenty of parking. However, the strip in front of the shops and Thatchers is 60 min, and they are strict.
