Went for breakfast yesterday and we misread something on the menu. We thought the pancakes with fruit were plain pancakes with fruit on top, we didn't realize it would be pancakes with fruit inside. In our defense there were also blueberry pancakes on the menu yesterday so again "pancakes with fruit"read to us as plain pancakes with fruit whereas the blueberry pancakes are pancakes with blueberries in them. ANYWAY.. pancakes come out and there are blueberries inside. We thought they gave us the wrong pancakes by mistake. Call over the waitress, explain the mishap, she steps away for a moment, seems unsure what to do. Ultimately comes back and asks what we would like to do. I asked to swap out the pancakes, said "sorry" about that but she seemed ok and happy to help. We think everything is fine.
Not even 2 minutes later, a woman comes storming our way and says "What's the problem over here!?" I again explain what happened and she said "Well we don't do that here" and waves me off with her hand in my face. Her body language and attitude were way out of line. She seemed personally offended by the mishap.
The woman stormed off as quickly as she first came up to us. I got up and immediately asked out waitress what her name was. Come to find out it's the owner which makes the entire situation worse. Never in my life have I seen a manager/business owner act like that towards customers. I told this to the waitress who did her best to resolve the situation. I told her to cx my order, keep my nieces, but that we would never come back.
On the way out (you have to pay at the register) she's standing there with her husband and I reiterate that how she did a poor job of handling the situation and her behavior was inappropriate. She proceeds to put her hand on my shoulder, as if its ever ok to touch a stranger? And attempts to explain herself.. nope not ok. I say we've been coming here for years and we will never be back. To which she says "oh really! You've been coming here for years?? I have NEVER seen you." We were literally there the previous weekend but go ahead and call me a liar...
At this point we're all looking at each other just shell shocked at her behavior. She basically finished off by saying "WHATEVER" and again waved us off.
Extremely unprofessional. She seems burnt out and is taking it out on her customers. I read through the reviews and there are a lot of the same comments about her. And her responses back are proof she doesn't know how to take criticism. Whether she believes it or not my family and I did frequent Hannah g's during summer and we will NEVER give them a dime again. Happy to support other local eateries. Water dog is across the street and they are always pleasant. You're better off going somewhere else.
Good luck to all the customers who have even the slightest issue with...
Read moreHorrendous customer service. I've been here multiple times before and the food is consistent, but after my last experience I'll never be returning. A dish came out incorrectly, so we informed the wife of the owner. She proceeded to roll her eyes, laugh, and walk away. When she passed by again, we flagged her, and she mockingly questioned what we said. My husband stated "That's what she said." reiterating our issue, she then grabbed my husband's shoulder and told him he needed to calm down. I don't think touching a customer is appropriate whatsoever, and everyone was calm aside from her erratic behavior with every table and employee she interacted with (this wasn't just an "us" issue).
After paying, we went to the front to discuss with the owner. He stated it was his wife and are we really going to talk about his wife to him. Yes, actually, as a business owner you should want to know the service your patrons are receiving. His wife overheard and rushed over and grabbed my husband's shoulder AGAIN. Even if it's your wife, she's working as an employee, and should be held to normal standards. No explanation, apology, or remorse whatsoever from either of them. I can't remember the last time I've had such a poor experience at a restaurant.
All the other waitstaff is great, I genuinely feel bad that they have to work in such a chaotic environment.
I'm sure they'll write a snarky response to my review here, at least they keep the lack of accountability consistent across the web...
Read moreWe were on our way home from vacation... decided to get breakfast... quick Yelp look to see a good breakfast place in the area then BAM! Hannah G hit me... And I will never forget it.
-SITUATION: Family of 5 with a 2, 4, 10 year old hungry and ready for a 5 hour trip back home. It's 10am on a Friday morning on SPRING Break.
-PROS:
Service. As soon as you walk in the lady greeted me "just pick a table hon". She was very attentive and suggested items I forgot to order (home-fry's).
Quantity and Quality: It's rare you go to a place and you get the right amount of food. This place hits it right on the head. I got the Belgian waffle my wife and kids got pancakes with fruit and OH MY!!! (George Takei) the FOOD was fantastic. You can't get any more home cooked than this... not to mention the fruit served... where do they get it that fresh...
Cost: Great price. roughly $8 per person... fed my family without making a dent in the wallet.
-CONS:
Street parking: It wasn't busy we were able to get a spot across the street, but crossing the street with little ones is always something I like to avoid.
Small restaurant. Granted you get that cosy feeling but it was a bit cramped. There may be some tables in the back but I didn't get a chance to see.
-OVERALL:
A must try for all. It will now be a part of my itinerary every time...
