Downbeach Liquors — Local services in Margate City

Visiting family at the Jersey shore and stopped into this liquor store to get some beer and wine for dinner. I spotted my favorite Belgian ale in one of the beer coolers, opened the door and suddenly a six pack of glass bottles smashed at my feet. My legs and feet were covered in beer and there was glass in one of my sandals. My sister and I called for assistance yet no one came until my daughter went up front to ask for help. The presumed owner, a man, came to the back of the store and instead of offering me a paper towel, he admonished us for attempting to pick up broken glass, (which we were not!) I explained that the beer bottles fell out of the case on their own and then he hurried to the front of the store to review his security footage. He never apologized, he never offered me something to clean up with and even after the footage revealed I was telling the truth, he still did not apologize. He continued to scold us about not picking up glass. I will never go here ever again, nor will my family who live in the area.
