Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Ventura

I am not one to leave bad reviews because I know it is much easier for people to complain than to compliment good service. However, I felt this negative review is necessary. My mother in law and I went to this location to order $60 worth of food for our family on 07/08/20 around 8:55 pm. We ordered our food with a younger, shorter man and had no problems. He was sweet.

My mother in law noticed 2 younger women (one working the grill, the other bagging food, making shakes, taking an order after us at the front counter, and handing food out at the drive thru). They were not fully wearing their masks while working with the food. They had their noses hanging out. Now I know everyone has different opinions on wearing masks. But for our safety, my mother in law kindly asked for them to put their masks over their noses for our safety, and the safety of the others that they were serving in the drive thru. The younger woman up front just looked at my mother in law and walked away. The one at the grill completely ignored her.

My mother in law then asked the older woman making fries to ask them to put their masks all the way on. She explained to the employees that we just had a very good family friend die at 34 to covid, and we just did not want to risk it. The woman at the fries then asked her employees put their masks on all the way, which they did not do right away. Mother in law asked loudly again for the 2 girls to put their masks on all the way. They did, but the girl at the grill yelled at her, "It has been on the entire time, it just fell off!". This was obviously not the case.

The woman making the fries was kind enough to try to de-escalate the situation and called her manager right away. Mind you, she did not speak English very well, and the girl didn't even try helping us translate our conversation with this woman (she just gave this woman an attitude in Spanish and walked away)...My Spanish is not fluent, but I knew enough to know that she was being disrespectful to her coworker. The manager called the store's phone to speak to my mother in law. When the phone rang, the girl working the front had an attitude and tried getting to the phone, in which the lady making fries told her to walk away and answered the phone. The girl walked away with a huff. My mother in law talked with the manager on speaker phone and explained what happened.

Now we completely understand that it is difficult working with masks. I can't imagine how hot it is working by a fry vat and grill, running around, busy. But we kindly asked for them to pull their masks, up and were met with attitude from these two employees. Masks are required in the state of California, end of story. Customers are required to wear masks prior to walking into any establishment, therefore employees need to be held to the same standards. I work at a preschool and am well versed with the CDC and health department requirements during covid, especially when it comes to cooking and serving meals. How these employees acted, even when customers kindly requested that they pull their masks up is just careless.

My apologies to the young man and older woman for having to try to ask these girls multiple times to pull their masks up. We know it is an awkward situation to be placed in. These two did as much as they could, and we thank you for that!

The Staff keeps Their Franchise Clean ? I've been going There for Over a year now and Not Once has the Bathroom Been A Mess The Service is Exceptional and My Food has always been Hot and Put together nicely & If Your inside The To Place Your Order & You Get a Soft drink Out Of Their ALL In One Soda Dispenser? The Staff Doesn't Care If You Refill Your Soda Cup All the way to the Top before you Leave the Restaurant ? Another Perk For Senior's is that They Except the EBT / Cal fresh Food Stamp Card for Payment instead of Cash ,? I Should Clarify ,That You don't have to Be A Senior Citizen to Use EBT,/ Food Stamp Card As Payment ? Anyone who has the Card is Eligible To Use It As Payment for All Meals and Beverages ? Because Normally With the EBT Card No one is Allowed to Buy Hot Already Prepared Food ? But because You are Paying for the Service ? Your Actually Paying Ahead of time for the Purpose of Getting a Hot Meal ? Plus That Location Has Another Group of Common We'll Known Shops and Name Brand Stores ? I Don't know if Everyone Who has Already Arrived To Visit or Returned from A Vacation ? But The Walgreens Drug Store Chain Is Closing It's Doors Forever Here in California & I've Heard That "Rite Aid Is Going to be Next To Close Their Door's As well because they Can't Compete 'with 'C,V.S. Drug & Discount Stores ? Along with "Burger King" Their Closing Their Entire Chain Because they have become a Low Grade Fast Food Restaurant As Compared To Carl's Junior, Arby's , Wendy's & last McDonald's ? I'm Sorry for Giving Everyone the New Updated Info .As To Other Popular Fast food Chains That Can No Longer Compete,, That Are Following Suit ? I Would also like to Say That This "Jack in the Box Location shares it's Location With A Little Caesars & Pizza hut , China Panda.Taco Bell In A Safe Place Where You Won't Experience Any Kind of Vandalism Or Theft From Your Vehicle During the day Because With All of the Stores and Restaurants in this Location There's Just To many people that Don't Tolerate that Kind of Behavior and Will Report it As Opposed to Turning A Blind Eye As If Nothing Ever Happend ? Today the drive thru originally attempted to charge the medium upgrade even tho we kept saying the 3.99 chicken sandwich special and then they handed us change and bag and shut window saying have a good day. We drove half a block realizing they didnt give us our drinks. Only one was made when we got back up to window and they tried to say we only ordered one drink. So i get back in car after a here you go base apology and i was oh well ok. We wasted time and gas and now my fries were cold. Then the lady i was with was very specific no sauce no condiments no cheese no tomato. After two bites she gags and looks horrified. Cheese is on sandwich. So im chewing on my sandwich abd i go in to the store and stand at counter. They saw me and were busy but i had already had a problem you'd think they'd want to fix it right away. They finally take the two bites eaten burger and while waiting i am continuing to eat :My sandwich is kinda dry my soda is outside along with my now ice cold fries. I need something to drink so i ask or try to ask for a cup of anything.. Two awful almost dry hacking minutes i waited for a cup. Then finally they hand me the sandwich it's served in a basket and not even wrapped up Im supposed to take this fo the car? So i get it better wrapped and i carry it out tp the lady who is afraid to eat it.
