Star Crab — Restaurant in Ventura

Don’t even waste your time with this place . The owners are rude, unprofessional, racist , and BIG LIARS. The smell of this restaurant smells like sewage . Bathroom looks like gas station restroom. The grill in the front is filled with rust it is disgusting. How can anyone serve someone like that , the health department needs to close this place down.They don’t accept parties of 15 they will turn you away. My party asked if the food was good , owner replied rudely, he doesn’t know . We asked about how the 18% tip worked , he told us that we should go to Mexican restaurant (mind you our group was black,white, and Mexican). He had no right to make a comment like that towards us it was uncalled for . If we wanted Mexican food , we would go eat Mexican food. He speaks in a aggressive tone towards his customers . He lied to us said that he can’t serve us because he’s closing , mind you there was other customers eating and ordering there food . According to yelp and google this restaurant closes at 9:30 , it was 7:00 when he told us he couldn’t serve us . VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! I would star crab 0 rating stars...

First time here. Was skeptical because it's a big restaurant and it was pretty empty for a Friday night. There was some issues with the bathroom (wouldn't flush my first time in there and then I realized door couldn't be shut closed unless you slammed it in place on my second time) Place is Asian owned so I knew the seafood should be good. We ordered a pound of shrimp with the head for $15/lb. We also added in 2 sausage links ($4/ each!) 2 corns ($2/ each!) Potatoes ( I think was $3 for 3 small pieces?) and 2 servings of rice which is an astounding $4/ each (about 12 oz of rice) 1 clam chowder for $8! The food all came out within 10 min of ordering so it was quick and HOT! Needless to say, the food was yummy and delicious! I just docked a star because added sides are pretty pricey. Our total bill was $50 and we didn't order any drinks. The added sides and rice cost way more than the shrimp! Oh and their medium full house sauce is pretty spicy so next time I'm just ordering mild or the owner told us to get mild-medium so that there's still a little spice but not as spicy as medium. This used to be a good place to get seafood. But on this visit, the sauce was watery and lacked flavor. It's like they didn't boil the sauce or they poured water on some sauce, it didn't even coat the seafood. The seafood itself lacked flavor. Sauce did not coat the back of the spoon, consistency of water. Extreme disappointment considering this topped the Crab n Spice on my list at some point. If this is under new management, do some serious reset because this is a failire on your part. There was also a strong bathroom, old pipe odor soon as we walked in. We ate in tonight and it was awful to have to sit through that stench. The old man & woman took our odor, brought food, and did not bother to check on us anymore, not friendly either. Not worth the money anymore. I suggest go to another location (Panorama in the SFV) if you want quality lile this place...
