Mark kenyon has owned pizza chief for 35 years on April 1st (believe it or not). Pizza Chief uses honey instead of sugar in the dough which is very expensive but makes all the difference in the world. The dough is like silk and rises to perfection, utilizing the sea salt air to proof the dough. The dough is made fresh daily and consistently perfect for every pizza pie. Not only do they have pizzas but they also make sub sandwiches and the bread is partially baked so it bakes fresh when they put it in the oven. Read moreI have made it a habit to eat here every Friday and this last visit was a treat more so than usual because i was able to talk to the owner of the past 33 years and learn some history! Mark Kenyon is his name and the single coolest fact i learned was that he is also a local bee keeper and the sugar used in the dough is actually honey from his bees. Awesome! The service is always super friendly and the food is always just what i wanted. I had the pesto with garlic and basil this evening and it was perfect. I actually work here and I see how much is put into the quality pizza. The dough is made every day inside the kitchen from the moment the ingredients are mixed to the moment the toppings are added as its put in the oven.
