Great large grassy park with an intriguing history, and a clear view of the coast, ocean, and islands. There are several mature trees offering shade particularly along the north and east perimeter, with a vast expanse of gently sloping grass, perfect for yoga, picnics, frisbee, or tossing a ball. Dogs are frequently there off-leash, racing around.

There are signs along the north perimeter sidewalk with historical detail.
