Tous les Jours — Restaurant in Vernon Hills

Super excited that Tous Le Jours have taken their expertise and aroma up to the North Shore and we have another spot to enjoy coffee, cakes and croissant.

Chicago definitely could use more bakeries! The smell of fresh bread and coffee are simply amazing and we could definitely use more of this aroma in the malls. Overseas, a bakery is found around every corner and in malls, but unfortunately we don't have enough of this here!

Their cakes are also amazing! Fresh cream, soft and firm cakes and absolutely beautiful designs. They are well balanced as well, not being too heavy or sweet, so it each bite doesn't overpower you but leaves you craving for more.

The matcha cake was the surprise! We decided to try out a new flavor and it blew us away. The cake's sponge itself was suberb! It was so soft but firm, and the flavor was really good! To match it, the cream and fillings were really good too.

Overall, we are totally satisfied with Tous Les Jours and their cakes and would definitely come back...

Such a cute and quaint little cafe with yummy drinks, and beautiful desserts and pastries! We shared a giant croissant roll and I had the ube latte (no coffee) and my counter part had the tiramisu latte (with coffee). The ube latte was pretty nuetral in flavor, but the tiramisu is definitely for those who prefer a sweeter palate.

We got a cloud latte (semi sweet latte with sweetened condensed milk as sweetener) as well as a cafe mocha, also semi sweet, both were divine. Cloud is exactly how it sounds and is very foamy which I enjoy. We also tried their blueberry yogurt cake today, and it was a well rounded treat all around. We had to grab the giant croissant again...

Tous les Jours bakes fantastic bread and pastries. If you prefer low sugar quality bakery, then this is one of the best in town. I found this location to carry less varieties than the Schaumburg location. The Schaumburg location is my favorite for their selection of pastries. The service at the Hawthorn Mall location certainly needs improvement. The expressionless faces behind the cash register maybe pretty but not welcoming. They neither answer questions properly nor are interested in selling anything. Personally I dislike places where they follow me around to make sure I am not a shoplifter. Then, when I ask them questions, they are less inclined to respond. So, 3 stars for service, 5...
